Does anyone know if Vodafone is planning to launch any VDSL offerings (Wholesaled from Chorus).

The Fibre rollout in Christchurch has stopped LITERALLY 100m from my house and isn't in the next two years plan to go any further up my street so its VDSL only for me. Chorus can give me VDSL at good speeds and I can get it from a few providers here in Christchurch. My problem is I have a sky bundle with Vodafone so ditching Vodafone I lose my discount with Sky and more importantly I get crap 3G coverage so I have a Suresignal device which of course will only work on Vodafone's network.

I rang once and was told that they didn't plan to as they would have to get special modems etc. I actually already have a brand new Fritzbox running my ADSL that is VDSL capable too (I use the same model for Snap ADSL at the office) so I know it works with Chorus's gear.

PLEASE vodafone - Telecom are now running VDSL plans to fill the gaps for people that can't get fibre - Do the same. I'd like to stay loyal as I have my business mobiles with Vodafone, I have my home line and broadband with you and my daughters phone (and next year my other daughter) with you and I'm pretty happy with your service and pricing etc.

Likewise I have a client who you've told they are too far from the road to get onto Fibre so they are stuck with ADSL - They NEED faster upload speed so I'm going to have to talk them into ditching the Vodafone service and getting Snap VDSL instead - I don't like pushing people to switch providers (As much as I can't stand Xtra as a business DSL provider) but I'm going to have to here too.

Regards,

Matt

You've probably already thought of this, but just in case: are you in a cable broadband zone? Because with the HFC network under VF, iirc you can get warpspeed internet (100meg down), the sure signal and a sky discount (or equivalent T-Box discount).

Probably a long shot, as the HFC network covers bugger all of Chch
