Are we just talking media shifting what is already provided via a T-Box or is there new content channels that are only available via UFB?

I mentioned about it in this thread, with information from NBR. Multicast streaming. Freeview or sky + Freeview. Looks like data used for this doesn't come out of your allocated bandwidth (so 30 / 100Mb/s +multicast data). Some sky SD channels could have less compression than Sky satellite versions (so they have their own source and are doing their own encoding of the signal).

well it sounds like it is just Sky or Freeview content, so the answer is yes. Just sign up to Sky or watch freeview and you will see the same stuff.

My first thought when I read the TV bit was this gets around the need to expand the cable tv network nicely
Is it the same T-Box being used on the Cable Network or something different?

ummm, no, the packages will not have unlimited broadband. the Tv part will be unmetered, but everything else won't be.

Question for VF: given this UFB service won't technically be a sky service (even though the content is Sky) whereas the current Sky/VF is still Sky for everything, will VF UFB TV customers get access to iSky?

If not, will there be an equivalent catch up type service you are building with similar (or better) functionality?

Really???!!!
So you'll be paying to watch what will basically look like a blurry mess on screen, since the SD channels on the satellite are terrible already, anything less must be totally unwatchable.

So you'll be paying to watch what will basically look like a blurry mess on screen, since the SD channels on the satellite are terrible already, anything less must be totally unwatchable.

Less compression = better quality

I've wondered how long it would be before an ISP did something like this. I'm behind a hill so can't get DVB-T reliably, but will be in UFB coverage next year. Things are looking up :)
