Hi there

I'm "stuck" in the US, with my trusty PAP2T, and I need the VFX provisioning URL as I had to hard-reset it :(

It looked something like

http://(ip)/configs/default/something.cfg

(note, I edited a few bits in there, tho mine obviously doesn't work anyway!!) This is what they give you when you sign up.

If anyone has it, can you post it? If it's considered private, please PM me, or email direct (nic dot wise at gmail dot com). I have a PAP2T if it makes a difference

I'd call WxC, but they only have an 0800 on the website, and I'm in the US, so no 0800 from here....

Ta!

Here you go Nic:

http://58.28.20.69/configs/default/default$MA.cfg

It seems to be the same for PAP2T or SPA2102, don't know about other devices.

Cheers,
Grant.

Thanks Grant, however thats the URL I have.

Last time I tried it (when in NZ) with the "correct" one, I entered it, hit save, and when the box came back up, it just said I can't get into the admin side (which is good :) )

Now, I hit save, it restarts, and.... nothing. I can still get into the admin section, and none of the line info is there :(

Thanks tho!

OK, I found it eventually - not like me to not send things to my email archive, given I work for an email archiving company!!

It's VERY close to that URL - I'll just wait until Maverick come on before I post it, as I dont know if it's a public thing or not!!!!

(EDIT) Damn, I thought I had it, but still no

The new one I found:

http://58.28.20.69/tftproot/configs/default/default$MA.cfg

I'm quite sure that is it, quote from my provisioning email:

To setup your Residential Linksys Device please enter the following Link in the Profile Rule under the provisioning Section of your Linksys Device setup, save the configuration and then power cycle the device. If you have any problems with this please contact our Support team who will be happy to assist you with any issues.

Maybe it is getting stuck between the configs (see my PM)

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Just checking 100% - it's going into the "Provisioning -> Profile Rule" box, right?

OK, I dont know if Phil did something on their end, or it just happened I did the combination of URL, reset, power etc all at the right time. But it works now!

yay! I have an 04 number here in Madison (hellllllloooooooo Wisconsin etc)

The call clarity is FANTASTIC - just called the folks in Auckland, and it was clear as a bell - even with the frankenstien network setup I have at the moment (I'm one power brick short, so I have an apple airport express plugged into the wall, my mac connecting to it over wifi, and the pap2t plugged into the mac on ethernet using connection sharing.....)

Fantastic - thanks everyone (esp Phil, Grant and CoffeeBaron)

Cheers

hehe, I should have written it down (will do now :) ). Problem before this was, once I got it setup (thanks!) I basicly left it alone for, um, 6 months or so. I got rebooted once or twice, but other than that..... never even looked at it :) Fantastic

Thanks everyone for the help :)

Mavrick: may be a good promotional thing for kiwi's on their OE - or travelers - "take your 04/09 number with you! TRUE number portability :)"

Sorry to high-jack this tread, but i'm experiencing the same issue as Nic, I have a new WRTP54G which I have hooked up to my TCL connection, everything is working fine but no matter what I try I can't get the VOIP phone working.

I was on the phone to a tech at WXC for about 30 mins but we could not resolve the problem.  Seems the provisioning settings don't stick and it never downloads the required information.  I have tried playing round with the logging (to see if it tries to make the connection) but it seems non-existing on the WRT router.  The proceedure I followed was as follows:
  • Login --> Voice --> Login Admin --> advanced view --> provisioning
  • provisioning rule http://58.28.20.69/configs/default/default$MA.cfg (seems to be same as listed in this thread).
  • save settings
  • WRT reboots
  • power cycle.
  • wait..... nothing....
Any ideas?? My thinking is that it must be my mac address maybe recorded incorrectly during the initial signup??  I've tried factory reset with the reset button and with the reset to factory in the admin interface.  One interesting thing is I can't tick the box to reset voice provider details as it asks me for a user name / password that is unknown to me.

Did you try Resetting to Factory Defaults via the IVR (by plugging in a phone)?

Hi,

The MAC address we have on file is not the same one as you have given now in the fault ticket Cry so hence the reason no config for your device, I have fixed this this morning with the info we have in the fault ticket and you should be good to go by the time you read this, you may need a restart but check your lights on the router firsts or easier still pick up the phone and see if you have dial tone.

Yay its all up and running, thanks for that and for the super quick turn around, next time over a cell phone i'll say delta echo charlie etc etc.

One question though the Xnet tech originally said just one line on the device would be locked and I would still be able to log in as admin for the second line, i.e. to set up a second sip provider this doesn't appear to be the case and both lines seem to be locked now, not an issue at the moment but in future I may experiment with some overseas providers to get a local number in another country etc.
