Recently bought a tablet and wanted to get 3G data on it.

Saw on the Vodafone website that there was a Data 80 for $80 dollars come with 5GB which can be used during a 6 months period.

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-broadband/prepay/

Called into Vodafone phone line to ask how to buy this, they told me it was best to go into store.

When I got to store the guy at Vodafone said this was only for vodem sticks, and can not be used on iPad (because the iPad plans are more expensive !@#$#!%).

My question is, anyone on this plan atm, I wonder if I could cut the standard sim to a nano sim and will it still work?

Its pretty ridiculous on the website it doesn't say modem only, kind of like false advertising and wasted my time driving to a Vodafone Store......

So just to be clear, this is what I should do?

1. Walk into Vodafone Store ask for a $5 Nano Data Sim card
2. Activate it by putting it into my iPad
3. Purchase the Prepay 'Pre Pay Data Plan' Data 80 online here: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-broadband/prepay/
4. Done, and happy day?

Well why did the vodafone person at the store in Christchurch Northlands lie to me, wasting my time.

I will go to a different store tomorrow then.

Can I please ask you one last question, under the terms and condition

"Every time you top up your Prepay Data SIM by  $20 or more you’ll receive a FREE 500MB Bonus that lasts 30 days (or if you top up earlier)"

Does that mean if I top up the 80 dollars via 4 instalments I could get 2GB free data?

I use the 3GB plan on my iPad mini, no need to go into a store. Once you have your profile set up online you simply log in and change it to whatever plan you like, as long as you have enough credit at the time to buy/switch to that option.

I don't have a prepaid nano data sim thats the problem.

I do have a vodafone nano sim for my iPhone 5s but then the number got ported off to another carrier.

When I put that sim into my iPad it just say out of service. I don't have an option to buy anything.

Not quite correct you can only change to the PrepayData plan from PrepayMBB or the ipad plan

Yeah sorry that is what I meant, just couldn't remember the exact wording of the prepaid plan.

Vodafone store member did not lie to you just some confusion

No you would not get 2GB as the 500MB would just renew each time you topped up

So this still holds true?

1. Walk into Vodafone Store ask for a $5 Nano Data Sim card

So I should be able to walk out with Data 80 by paying $5.00 for nan data sim and $80 for the plan, anything else?

Also does these data come with 4G?

I paid $20 for my nano SIM but it then came with $20 loaded on it.

Logged in online and changed it to the PrepayData add-on and was all set.

Ok, so I need a 'PrepayData' sim. Is this sold online in the vodafone store, or I just have to try my luck in each individual stores?
