first of all, sorry if this has all ready been mentioned. I have seen people mention similar problems in posts but have not seen an easy solution.

A couple of weeks ago I got Vodafone VDSL and it came with this Huawei HG659 Router. We are having major problems with the Wifi dropping out around the house. I have no problems at all with previous DSL routers. My last one was a Netgear.

This is becoming a constant issue where the wife is complaining saying the internet is slow on her Iphone/Ipad or it just doesn't connect at all. I keep having to change the channel and that seems to resolve it for a while but then the same problems re-occur. 

What is an easy fix for this? 
 
I don't really want to go buy anything more like an extender if possible.

- Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL)

- If you are rural or urban

 


 

- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin

 


 

- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service

 


 

- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above

 



 

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

 



 

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

Hi,

I had someone with a similar issue. Turned out we replaced the modem. If you have tried a factory reset, Check for interferences, Change channel, Force to 20mhz and no luck. Get it replaced.
