I currently have a phone + mobile number through work, but also have an old number that I rarely use but would like to keep since I won't get to keep the work number when\if I move on. I generally top it up $20 a year to keep it "current" (and occasionally use it for data when away on holiday)

Current credit expired at the beginning of July (I think) but I forgot to top it up.  The number still shows on my account page when I login to manage my account on the vodafone site - Does this mean I still "own" the number and so can still top it up to keep it current?   Sorry I just don't want to top it up if it's actually "expired" if that makes sense.

From memory it is 12 month for your credit to expire and then there is a 30 day period before your SIM/account is effectively nuked.

Actually... looks like JohnR already answered a similar question here:

https://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Mobile-Prepay-On-Account-plans/Expired-Sim-Card-Service/td-p/84894

Top-up is every 13 months to keep a number active according to that :)

EDIT: Cross-posted! :)  I've DM'd you John thanks!

PPS: Yes I know I don't "own" the number hence the quotes.

Which reminds me...who was that clown who started that thread where he forgot to top up, his SIM expired, then he topped up again but he had lost the number and thought it was "his" and kept telling us "you guys don't get it"? I could do with a good laugh tonight smile
