Have recently moved house - easiest way to do the move according to Voda was to connect ADSL at the new property, once in and connected then upgrade to Fibre from there.

After having no luck trying to find an option to order the upgrade online I gave up and called them, after a lovely wait I was informed that I could no longer keep my Sky TV with Vodafone if I was to go to Fibre. I must switch to Vodafone TV (yuck) or swap my Sky billing back through Sky.

At my old property I happily had Fibre with Sky TV all billed through my Voda account

Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Also, any tips on getting out of Vodafone Contracts? Just seems to be cock up after cock up.

Did you have Cable (HFC) or Fibre at the old address?

Yes if new house does not have fibre installed but has access to fibre then yes request VDSL install if in VDSL coverage then request fibre change over

I don't think it's a stuff up but understanding what is what

I went from Fibre to ADSL (had to move into a rental for a while) now have moved into the new property - all connected on ADSL OK.

What I am asking is - can I go onto Fibre with My Sky HDI and have my billing all through Vodafone - rep on the phone today said this was impossible and I had to go to Voda TV (which I really dont want to do)

I thought than VF Sky (yuck) was just one variety of VF TV (yuck).

Avoid both.

This is an excellent opportunity to leave Sky - unless you are a hopelessly addicted sports junkie.

Go to fibre + Netflix - better and MUCH cheaper (we saved $60 per month).

Dude... You're on holiday. Stay off Geekzone. Am I going to have to have a conversation with MF to get him to suspend your account.

Called yesterday to have Sky taken off my Vodafone account so I could get onto Fibre without Vodafone TV -

Vodafone 20 min wait - Sorry sir you need to talk to Sky
Sky no wait - Sorry sir you need to talk to Vodafone
Vodafone 10 min wait - Sorry sir you definitely need to talk to Sky
Sky no wait - Sorry sir......etc

Throws hands in air - will have to stay with ADSL until my contract is up I guess

About 2 years ago I had exactly the same issue when I switched to fibre. Both companies saying I needed to contact the other.
Glad to see my complaint helped identify the gaps in their process....not!

I am going to keep updating this thread because this is really laughable

We are now pushing over the 2 week mark and as far as I know I haven't been swapped back to Sky as yet - I have made the calls above plus 2 other occasions to see how things were progressing. Last call Vodafone tried to get me to call Sky again....told them there was no way I was making another phone call. They promised that someone from Sky would call me......that was 4 working days ago, no call yet.

Wonder if it would be easier for me to just cancel it via Vodafone then sign up as a new customer for the 12 months free movies/sport deal under the wifes name.

You'll need to order Sky separately?

Yes I assume my Sky will get disconnected at some stage - then I need to call Sky and get it reconnected through them.

What a complete farce VF are. The whole deal with Sky is just laughable.

On VDSL I have Sky billed through VF and have a mySky HDi decoder. Yet if I want to upgrade to UFB, I can't retain that decoder. Of course, no proper reason given, "it just is". Nice work Vodafone!

It is their way of pushing the below par Vodafone TV on people

2 days after cancelling Sky through Vodafone - no call from Sky and its still operating happily on my TV.

What a joke

I did this process about 6 months ago when I upgrade to fibre with Vodafone. I just called Vodafone and cancelled my Sky subscription. Some time later Sky contacted me and asked if I really wanted to cancel. I told them that I just wanted to subscribe directly to Sky. They altered my subscription and things just carried on. I didn't have to hand back the MySky box.
