I was checking up on the Fusion Unlimited early termination fee as I have a contact who has this but was asking me how to get out of his landline entirely due to changed family circumstances. He signed up in Feb 2015. Wants to downgrade to cellphone and mobile data only.

I see the term is now 12 months, down from 24. Does this shortened contract term apply to existing customers or just new signups?

TIA

Andrew

If the term was 24 months when they signed up, than 24 months is what they agreed to. Any new offer/term would not replace the current offer/term in place. They could try requesting cancellation under hardship to avoid any early termination fees?

You would need to read the terms of your particular contract.

Yeah this person's circumstances have changed dramatically due to a very close bereavement, so I may see if we can get it waived on compassionate grounds. I'll call WXC shortly.
