Did you contact Parallel import for help on setting it up?

Have you tried contacting Vodafone Customer services on 777 to see if your connection is provisioned for MMS?

Another thing to try is to borrow a friend's phone that you know for sure can send MMS. Insert your SIM card and try sending a MMS. If it works then it's your handset. If it doesn't work then it's your account configuration.

If it doesn't work, when you call 777 ask if your SIM card have access to the * APN.

If it works then you can copy the MMS configuration from your friend's handset, or go back to the store where you bought the handset and ask them to configure it for you.

Easy put your SIM in a handset that you know has no issues with PXT!!  If it works then its a handset issue!

Are you prepay or On Acc?

You have to concentrate on your problem first - you can't handle two problems.

As suggested before, borrow a phone you know can send and receive MMS. Then insert your SIM. If it works it's a configuration problem on your phone. If it doesn't work it's an account configuration problem and you must contact Vodafone.

Its so simple if your SIM works in another handset! Go back to the store and advise you want it working! Don't let them push you to Vodafone to resolve the issue!

This is the generic information for MMS configuration on Vodafone New Zealand. You can manually enter this on your phone.

This will only work if you know for sure your account is able to send and receive MMS from a handset known to work with MMS. Test as instructed before.

Splooorf!!

I have to say, I'm both surprised and unsurprised by some of the comments coming out here.

The "unsurprise" comes out of my dealings with First Mobile (no matter which of a number of stores I've been into) which have left me well short of impressed.  My main thought in relation to them is that they're interested in selling handsets but not about helpful in regards to them.  In line with other comments here, the (often) very young sales staff seem more interested in their own immediate concerns.

But Vodafone themselves are usually really good.  In fact, I'm heading off overseas for 6 months soon and Vodafone are literally bending over backwards to be as accommodating as possible for me while I'm away.  And I'm not a big spender - I'm on a you choose plan with a few add-ons...

The OP bought the first phone secondhand on trademe, and the second from parallel imported. This has nothing to do with First Mobile, and any problems mentioned in this thread should not be attributed to First Mobile (or even to Vodafone, unless the OP completes testing as described by others).

Cheers

Contact Vodafone on 777 and ask if your account can access the * APN.
