Hi All,

Just a quick question around timeframes. I rang to get fusion on my line (a new line - no current telecom service on it, but the line is physically connected (beeb - beeb - beeb when you pick up the phone)). Anyway, the CSR I spoke to advised that they are doing the signups via email / fax / post as it is faster, so I was sent a form to fill out via email. I've filled this out and faxed it off last Thursday. I haven’t received any response / acknowledgement of this yet. Does anybody have any idea of the normal timeframe for this to be acknowledged?

yay, just received an email from xnet advising that things are underway. Was only worried that the shaded bits on the application form might overpower the black pen I used to fill it out. Obviously they could read it, so it's all good.

I have requested a form for Fusion today, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and ill be able to post it back by thursday.  By the way the wait times for help desk seems to have improved again.  I called 0800123456 and got answered straight away. :)  But might be cause I called at 1:30pm.

You can also scan the signed form and e-mail it back to Sales@xnet.  I received my form via e-mail and sent it back via e-mail.  Took 3 work days to get changed over to nDSL, another day to get my Telecom number customer linked, and now waiting a few days for my Telecom number to be ported.

Hey that form has preffered email address / password, etc Do i need to fill this all in?  I am already a customr and have River + VFX and i want to change it to Fusion.

What about my address and contact numbers etc - Xnet already has all this info.  :S

Would also appreciate more info on how to fill out:

Numbers to be Ported to WxC Network.  I want to port my Telecom number but how do i fill this??

is it:

1) Telecom Number, (Y), VFX Number,   (what to put for port date / time - i want this to coinside with Naked DSL)

I would fill in as much as possible, it just has to be really easy for the person at the other end to know what you want and avoid delays :)

The porting part, that's exactly right.  The only thing is that we can't do the number port at the same time as you move to naked DSL.  We have to do the churn, your number will stop working at which point we get Telecom to set it up as a customer link so you still get your calls and once that's done then we can do the number port. 

That does mean that there is some downtime for your Telecom number while this is done but once it's done all the calls made to it will go through to your current VFX line.  I would just put on there that you want it ported as soon as possible after the move to naked DSL.

Cheers thanks for the reply.  I will fill everything in including my password :S.  Another small thing is that I have specified my cap in terms of dollars so not sure how exact GB figure is needed but I can round it to whatever and then just change it from my account settings online so should be ok.

Exactly what I did, simply wrote on the form I want the number ported whenever it can be.  Note that my customer link was in place on Friday, yet it was only today (Tuesday) that I got a call saying it is now in place and the port will happen during the next few days.

By the way, my Telecom number was down for only 24h and whenever someone phoned me there was a message saying "the number is not currently in service or is disconnected".

Does anyone know how long it normally takes until a fusion circuit is connected? I sent through my application form last Thursday, and I’ve received my details for the vfx service (with a cool vfx assigned number), but, I can’t use it until the adsl is connected. I’ve read in another thread about no ISP being able to connect more than 50 nDSL connections / day – hopefully that limit is no more.

Does anyone know roughly how long the wait normally is?


Note - it's a new connection (phone line is already connected, but no account associated with phone line if that makes sense).

From memory it is easier to get Fusion if your phone is disconnected.  But it also depends on where you are.  Some places will take longer than others.  For me with an existing XNet account and a connected Telecom phone, it was 4 work days plus 3 days for the port.  I'm in Pakuranga, Auckland and there is always Telecom contractors in this area so doing their bit is quick.

Ok, gave xnet a ring and asked if they had an eta on when the ADSL would be connected. Apparently it’s been connected since the 13th. I would have expected an email to state the service is now live. I did get an email regarding the Xnet VFX account being created and active shortly. If that was it, I would have expected it to be slightly clearer stating that the ADSL component has also been activated (Assuming it has - see point below).

At work at the moment so can’t check it, however, when I lifted the receiver of the analogue telephone plugged in this morning (I've been checking at least 5 times a day) I still heard the "beep beep beep" no service tone. I would have expected that to have disappeared (silence from the phone). Is that not the case?

No, your line will keep on beeping the "not connected" stuff. Agree, the communications during the process is a bit light and late as well. My number was customer linked on the Friday, but it is only the following Tuesday I got a call saying my number is now customer linked and will be ported within a few days.

Whats the timeframe between my account changing to Naked DSL (base price shows as $59.95 in account settings)  to Naked DSL actually coming alive?   The account seems to have changed on Saturday when my monthly CAP got reset but I am still syncing at FS/128K and my Telecom line is alive.

A few days, should be less than a week.  Note that the dial tone will disappear, but there will still be a "beep beep beeep beep" tone.

I seem to be on Naked DSL now as my telecom phone lost the dial tone and if i ring it from a mobile it has a recorded message that says "The number you have called is not currently active or is invalid".   How long does it take till it gets customer linked and forwarded to my VFX line till the porting happens of the actual number? 

Oh and by the way Interleaving is back on, can it not be turned off on Naked?
