Vodafone just don't move customers from ADSL to VDSL that I am aware of, You would need to request an upgrade

So you are saying you never spoke to anyone in VF about moving to VDSL it just happened?

I've seen this happen before, when sales are mixed with service, instead of it being a hey lets resolve your issue its a hey, thats because your on adsl.

@op what modem do you have?

turns out someone from chorus wired up the neighbours wiring up the lamp post and put my  wires with the neighbours

might of still think people want a  1970s party line  " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_line_(telephony) "(....yes he was a old guy

so my modem was coming up as vdsl with speeds of 28mb +

but im on adsl2 +  15mb

so if neighbour has vdsl so could I maybe

will ring VF this week to find out

Wouldn't upgrade you/change plan without a conversation with you.

Maybe some investigation needs to ne done at to why the op has been informed this by vodafone?..

Chorus are keen on working with rsps to do exactly this. Would not be surprised if they too are doing it with vf.
Does work in vfs benefit afterall with the bonuses from chorus....

I've seen a DSL circuits get churned because of a mix up of ASID's. Sort of slamming by mistake. Possible it's happened here? More likely though, one of those awesome VF reps...

Sounds far more likely vodafone have taken up an offer to work with chorus to upgrade to VDSL where possible.

This benefits all parties, Generally, and is meant to be seamless to the customer.

Possibly OT, but..

Atleast for sparks case with this, there was very tight controls with chorus on which lines can be done including checking compatible modems first and notifications to customers letting them know (and giving the option to opt out)

Sometimes this does not go smooth, think we have been through some pretty chaotic ones (things like exchange migrations and upgrades at the same time simply do not mix at all) My props have been given to those behind the process on our side, along with ofcourse my input on things that could be done better :)

How can a customer be automatically  upgraded to VDSL doesn't it need to have a Master Filter installed at the address?
