Hi.

My nephew ported his Vodafone number to Skinny several months ago.

His girlfriend and I are on Vodafone and we get a number invalid or not currently active when we try and call him. My son who is on 2Degrees is able to call him.

Reading old forum post sounds like a porting issue.

@MikeHales @Linux I'm about to call a CSR to report this. Is there anything specific I should tell them?

Thanks

Nothing special, sorry for the hassle. Sounds like not quite setup right.

Make three or four calls to the number and note exact times. Have those times on hand - they almost always ask for this on even slightly out of the ordinary issues.

Called up and eventually got the CSR to email the porting team.

He originally tried to deflect issue to Skinny, then tried to enter it as a fault with my connection.

Had some difficulty with the latter, as he wanted my pin or answers to security questions for my number. Problem is that I have a company phone so I dont know the pin or email registered against my number. Looks like my old pin; from when I transferred my personal number to the company, is no longer valid.

When I explained again that issue is most likely a porting issue on Vodafone side, he said he'd email the porting team.

He didn’t email the porting team, you were fobbed off. Did you get his name?

Hi @kiwiharry

If this is still an issue, please DM me the number and I will check what has been done.

Thanks

Shaun.

And yet again, the call centre proves how useless they are.

@shaunm

This is now working. We can now call from our mobiles to the affected number.

Thanks very much.
