Is the Vodafone Sure Signal still available?  I think mine has died and I will need to get a replacement.

Do you know if they will replace an existing one in service?

Is there an alternative to Sure Signal on Vodafone?  We don't get Vodafone signal here and so the Sure Signal has been an excellent option.

If Vodafone is no longer selling units does it mean they are also going to cancel the service?

Is there an app where the function of the Sure Signal runs inside the phone?  The Sure Signal mimics a cell tower and converses with the phone in the normal manner on one side, but on the other side a ethernet connection is used as the backhaul to the Vodafone service centre.  Using an app instead, the app uses the WiFi network as the backhaul.  This means when there is no cell service but excellent wifi the app could connect to the service (like the sure signal) and then all call management functions are processed by the app.  No sure signal box needed.

Not for Vodafone, but 2degrees has “WiFi Calling”, which is essentially that.

Does vodafone have a plan to do this?  I heard Spark is going to roll out wifi calling in 2019.

Yep, found that out after doing some research on the subject.  Completely escapes me why mobile service provider leaders like Vodafone and Spark do not offer such services for their rural customers.  I'm going to go visit a Vodafone retail store and see if they have any Sure Signals in their inventory they want to get rid of.  If not, and there is no other solution then it looks like I have to drop my service with Vodafone and sign up with 2 Degrees if I want to have mobile service.  They are not going to put in any new cell towers out here, they are dropping the Sure Signal and no one but 2 Degrees wants to provide WiFi calling.  Doesn't look like much support in the long run for rural customers.  Sorry for my ranting .. just so frustrating given the hype on 5G and neglecting the basic services.

I contacted Vodafone customer support (Tech Guru's) and they said the reason the V3 Sure Signal is no longer being sold is because a new one is coming out soon.  Anyone know when the launch date is?

Try trademe. I picked one up a few years for testing, however it’s been lent to an acquaintance and I don’t think I'll see it back sadly
