Hi team,

I've just tried installing a Vodem onto an HP NX6320 running XP. everything installs ok up the point of kicking off the VMC application which then throws up an error

"Program Error!
The type iniitalizer for 'VMC.BaseServices.RegistryAccessor' threw an exception.
etc for another 7 lines

I called Vf and their response was to 'restart' and try again.... same result

I called Vf again and their response was to 'install it on another machine' .... It worked fine on my desktop I was able to connect to the web; so it is not the usb stick.

I see from the forum entries there is a problem with Vista; and some xp installs.

Do I need to download the 'full' version of VMC to install the device.

Hope there is some light soon..

i've often had issues with VMC lite. Try uninstalling completely, and reinstalling from scratch following all prompts along the way, and only connecting the device when it tells you. if it still gives an error, then get the full version of the software and give that a whirl.

Please make sure vodem (E220) is running latest software & Firmware in the single download are 2 files please run both 8 minutes each

Download can be done from www.mobilenetworks.co.nz

Update can be done on XP/Vista machine

The trouble is you have to insert the usb stick for it to start installing... the software is on the stick.

I tried it on a desktop and it installed exactly as expected; not so with my notebook :-(

Its only for E220 Vodem
