Hey all,

My data has been broken since this morning, it works when you turn it on, and after a couple minutes of use, it stops loading anything. The 4G/H+ icon stays but the internet doesn't work. Turning Airplane mode on and off fixes it for a couple mins but the problem comes back. Anyone else having this? Vodafone Mobile outage map doesn't really show anything and I wish it showed lists instead of a map.

Thanks.

Tried powercycling the phone? I was using my mobile data this afternoon with no issues.

Approx where are you located and have you tried a different location? (different part of town)

Might be just a single cell issue

Yup, tried that. Works for a couple mins and then off again.

In Whanganui and yes, have been in different parts of town with the same issue.

I have also tried using my sim in a different phone and get the same issue.

Hey there.

Is this issue happening on other Vodafone Mobiles?

Also what devices have you put your sim in to try and rule things out?

Is your issue full on no data after a little or is it just some stuff not working?

Finally where have you been around Whanganui? Approx locations not exact addresses is fine. Would love to know signal strength too.

Calls/texts keep working while having this issue.

I got 5GB free NZMBs from Vodafone last Wednesday. Surely that's not causing the issue? Data was working fine last week so I don't think so.

(It always says _/0mb no matter what pack it is for some reason)

I don't have any devices bought straight from Vodafone or any Vodafone branded devices if that's what you mean.

The main device I'm using is the Huawei Nova 3i and the other device I used to test is a Galaxy S9.

My data isn't loading anything at all after a couple mins of use

I have had this issue in Whanganui East, Aramoho and Durie Hill. I went around College Estate too but didn't use my data much there so I'm not sure about the issue happening around there. Unfortunately I don't have the signal strength but was pretty close to a tower in East and Aramoho.

Just noticed that when the issue is happening, the My Vodafone app still refreshes.

I went around Whanganui again and am still having the issue:

Whanganui East: -95 dBm 45 asu
Dublin Street Bridge - like a couple meters away from the tower: -56 dBm 84 asu

When my providers app works but no other data does, it usually means I've run out of data (or their system thinks I'm out of data).

Does V.fone have other un-metered sites you can check (how about the covid tracking site?).

Yes. The government covid-19 site works.

Data still not working. @MaxineN are you able to look into this?

I’m on leave tomorrow but I’ll see if I can get someone to have a second look in the mean time.

I’d suggest calling 777 and logging a fault with tier 2/service assurance in the mean time.

Edit just pmd you

Though this may not apply due to unmetered sites working, I know someone who was complaining of similar symptoms and it was when he had Norton mobile security running with its VPN setting on - once this was removed it returned to normal

Yeah that doesn't apply here as I've tested the sim out on different phones too.
