VFX will only work with approved hardware, or with special request with Astrisk (i.e. they provide no technical support). It will not work with any soft phone unless you find a way of emulating approved hardware which will be a security risk for VFX so they will shut you down as soon as they discover you are emulating it.

3CX is supported on the DVX platform.

To use it with VFX you will have to request an Asterisk account and deal with all support issues yourself.

I've spent a fair bit of time playing with it recently but haven't actually bothered registering it with VFX since I had no need.

All I can say is that it can't be hard! :-)

Sorry I won't get a chance to look at it any time in the next few days, there was a post here in the past with somebody asking the same thing which somebody may have replied to.

yeah cheers for the effort, i have ready that post already but no real answer to the question, I will have a play, see what happen, if i figure out will post here, i am there is people out there want to use a windows base ip pbx rather then setup a box just for pbx wasting power..

if you have time please do have a look and share the result.

cheer mate

I've been playing with it incase I ever need to support a 3CX system and will write up a blog post with some settings when I get some time.

Unfortunately I'm very busy this week so I doubt I'll get a chance to have a look at it until the weekend.

There are a number of users using 3CX on VFX/DVX, unfortunately I myself have never played with it so I can't give you much in the way of direction, but be assured that it does indeed work :)

Since no seems interested in helping with this for free, I'll give a $50 petrol voucher to the first person who can provide enough information to get my VFX trunk working on a 3CX system so I am able to make and receive calls.

PM me to make contact.

Thanks.

I assume you have an Asterisk VFX account?

I forgot all about this, I'll have a look into it tonight.

I had a brief play with this last night. I had inbound calls working fine but then broke them getting outbound going so I'll need to check my settings again.

After looking at the SIP traffic I had to change a couple of the outgoing SIP field strings from AuthID to the external line number (many VoIP operators use the extn/phone number for both) but then broke incoming and get a 404 error when 3CX tries to register for inbound.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to have a play tonight, it will be something simple I've configured incorrectly!
