Hello again,

Having problems calling either of these numbers as of last night. When ringing them, I just get the ringing tone and no reply. Was happening on my p910 as well as the motorola 3g handset I recently accuired.

Sometimes it will pick up, other times it doesn't. When it does connect I sometimes get the 'Network busy' error and the call is dropped.

Anyone else having problems?

Yes all sorts of problems here too, as you can see from my other post I have become very irritated with them, we pay this ultra premium service rate and get quite simply the worst service in the world.

,, I LOVE my 027 now, no hassles with it ever, the only hassles are fixed almsot instantly and with apoligies and admission of fault.
I only like my 021 handset but dislike Vodafone extremely.

Time to data cable up my trusty 6210 and send 30,000 SMS agin I think. Now where was that box of prepaid SIM's?

okay today I get distorted "bro" music, and an australian busy signal plays,,,, an australian busy signal yes.... it looks like it IS true they are shunting calls to Australia and back, I do it too but i'm a geek saving $$$!

As for the 777/0800800021 'problems', their customer support denied it all and blamed it on 'mass calling'. From 9-11pm yesterday and 7-10am today? Surely not.

Though I get the impression from the customer service people that if they deny something enough times it helps them think that it doesn't exist.

I really need a app for my p910 that will record conversations. Been looking but so far most have been for the Nokia smartphones. Some of the responses I get from customer services are worth sharing sometimes.

Also took the Motorola e770v back. Even though mobile TV is quite neat (skipping and buffering a bit). Its just that. 3g calls still drop out quite often.
Bluetooth still isn't working correctly (computer -> phone) and without bluetooth... the phone is not very useful to me.

Just a quick question and i dont mean this to spark a telecom vs vodafone thread ill say that now.

If telecom decided to build a gsm network would you move from vodafone to telecom ? Assuming that you would still get all the same plans and $10 txt ?

Im asking this because I would like to know are people with vodafone for the branding or because they have a gsm based network or maybe for their top notch customer support :P

That's such a good question - I would even suggest a new thread.

For example not only branding, but how many of the people here get into a Vodafone contract because of of international roaming? How many here actually travel overseas frequently (more than once a year) and use their phones while away?

It depends on how the pricing plans and service are compared to the competition in that situation. I'm not on voda's network because its 'voda' persay. I'm on it because it has a larger range of handsets, the SIM card portability, and the pricing plan that I'm on priced better (Same network to network calls 24/7) than what the otherside offers.

If there was a GSM/WCDMA alternative I would seriously consider switching over depending on what plans they offer and what level of customer service they offer - since the recent dealings with voda customer services has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

One of them said it quite nicely "You can either stick with us and put up with the shortcomings we have, or you can invest in a new handset and switch over" (Its pity I wasn't recording the call). Its this attitude which annoys me.

Anyway I have probably trolled too much

Please note im not "getting at you", the question stated would you change to telecom if they had a gsm network with all the same plans that telecom currently offer. Im sure they would have the plans on www.telecom.co.nz This also answers the question on handsets with a gsm network they would have all the vodafone gsm handsets so therefore the companies would be IDENTICLE network/handsets. What im wanting to know is would you change to telecom if they had a gsm network with the current vodafone gsm range.

I have been reading allot of press about vodafones lets call it a "cocky" attitude. If they actually looked at the stats and saw how telecom kicked their butt last year they should question why. I have a phone with BOTH companies I have noticed telecom have a very friendly customer support team and their retail staff are fantastic. When you walk into a telecom shop you are notice and acknowledged and feel welcome. When you are in a voadfone store the staff are either on their laptops and ignore you or are sitting there txting. Personally I would rather have a GSM handset any day but if I am spending will over 2k a month with a telecommunications company I expected to be treated nicely.

Like i have said im not getting at vodafone or telecom this is MY personal opinion I know some of you love telecom and some love vodafone. Its your personal choice what company you are with all I want to know if telecom had vodafones handsets and GSM network would you be with them. Coke master it sounds like you sit there and dial 777 all day and all night. As you advised in a post tier 2 is looking into the issue. why don't you get out and enjoy this great weather.

If need a account balance or some use the SIM2 services

As a vodafone employee I expected you to stick up for the company. If cokemaster wants to call ANY companies help desk they are there to help the customer not be arrogant and rude. I am disappointed of how vodafone's customer standards have dropped. Like i said im a fan of gsm but I prefer being with a company that looks after me. For example I have had a small billing issues with both companies in the last 2 years. Telecom corrected it in 12 hours and added a healthy amount of credit. Vodafone told me it wasnt their fault and they would change my account for the next bill.

I know at this stage it seams like im having a go at vodafone but I just want to know your experiences and thought and I hope both companies read these and can gain what we the customers want.

I am not sticking up for the company I am holding neutral view in this case. My comment came from the posts he has made.

When vodafone have made billing errors they have given back the credit plus more when discovered, I have worked there over 5 years and seen many cases of this and they have also sent SMS to all customers affected and also pointed this out on monthly invoices with credits and free minutes added

You are all making it sound like its done on purpose which they are not. I am sure they would like the billing to be %100 the hardest part of many companies is the billing and im glad I don't work on it.

I wish I could say more but its best I don't but action is happening and I know the company wants it sorted. I don't know the in and outs of it so I am keeping my mount shout and I don't want HR pulling me aside.

Sorry i didnt mean to offend you.

Im sure every company in New Zealand would like to have a fault free billing system but EVERY computer system will have its faults. I understand and accept this. What I dont except is how vodafone delt with it on this one occasion it also sounds like others on this forum have the same experience as me.

I hope you can see where I am coming from.

The reason why I have been so persistant is because at the end of each month I get an invoice with the charges on.

Now I know that its been looked at, but at the same time the issue started in September.

I'm just waiting.

That said, I have probably called Vodas helpdesk a bit too often... however I really want this issue resolved ASAP. I'm leaving the country for a bit just after new years (going over to China) and I didn't really want to have to come back and still worry about it.

I also have a speed key set up so it dials 777, goes to accounts, gets quota, enter pin etc.... I know there is the bal option via the sim2 menu or bal sms to 777 but its just a habit. Hence why my call history is probably filled with calls :)

As for the weather its been great down here. Quite hot compared to last year (from memory) but also quite a lot of showers and thunder storms. Been a real hassle at work as the ac isn't working fully.

Yes im aware that vodafone have but they need to focus more on their customers. Also telecom do some pretty cool things,

Child Cancer Foundation chief executive Jim Barclay said the donation was the best possible Christmas present.

"The money will be a great boost for our scholarship programme which helps children and young people with cancer enjoy a normal life, with a particular focus on access to educational opportunities," he said.
