I have been a loyalty xnet customer over 5 years. Many ISPs have changed to unbundled ADSL2+ now. Xnet used to pretty innovative, why fogyish(no offensive) on getting ADSL2+ and unbundled exchanges?

Can anyone in WxC tell me if Xnet is planning to upgrade HSI to unbundled ADSL2+ or not? Thanks.

Why do you ask? Telecom Wholesale offer ADSL2+ today, do Xnet not offer ADSL2+?

@nzbnw can believe that right? it's true that xnet's HSI is ADSL1. ADSL2 only on fusion.

Hasn't Chorus' cabinet upgrade made installing your own equipment into exchanges redundant. You would want to install equipment into cabinets rather than exchanges wouldn't you?

WxC have made it very clear in the past that they see no benefit for themselves in unbundling and that they would offer Telecom wholesale services.

With the move to UBA and UEUBA for VoIP + Internet there will be very little difference in the services available.

xnet probably won't be installing any of their own kit in ULL exchanges. They just go through telecom wholesale. (Just my opinion)

The only way to get ADSL2+ through xnet (at the moment, this may change when telecom whole sale changes the UBA/etc conditions) is via fusion.. But really, even now on peak isn't going to max out a ADSL1 line.

I'm on fusion and I only get 200-400KB/s on peak.. (Which is OK, I guess) Of course, off peak I can do 1.6MB/s, from international sites..

I have a feeling that I'm capped at 2M.... because most the time Iget the same speedtest result to aussie and nz....

megabits vs Megabytes, that capital M is important

I'm guessing he was measuring in megabytes, so times that by 8 to get the same units you were using

.. That's MegaBytes per second, not megabits.. 1.6MB/s == ~13mbit..

Which given my sync rate is about 15-16mbit/s, is about right..

Looks like all cabinets in the exchange area have been installed, even if you are served by the exchange and in a 10Mbps area as stated, I would suggest looking at you're internal wiring.

Try an isolation test, unplug everything from the phone jacks and what restart you're router, what speeds do you get?

Try plugging you're router in at the Demark (leave all CPE unplugged); what sync speed does you're router show?

I don't think any of this will actually increase you're though put tho, but ADSL2+ may help. See what results you get, otherwise consider migrating to an ADSL2+ product, either with Xnet or perhaps another ISP if you wan't fast speeds.

At least thats what I read into you're situation, others may have some more insight.

The phone jacks in my house are pre-splitted. There is only one phone jack has ADSL signal, all others are behind a master splitter and only have phone signal. Could that be a problem?
