Did anyone succeeded in having their AA memebership registered with Vodafone on http://www.vodafone.co.nz/promos/aa_rewards/registration_form.jsp?

I tried three times already, 30 days apart each time, and Vodafone never records my AA membership number - or at least the payments I make to Vodafone are never reflected on my AA Rewards account.

Where is the flaw in this simple process: Register with Vodafone -> Pay Vodafone bill -> Get points on AA Rewards.

Somehow it works with BP, TelstraClear and Genesis Energy but not with Vodafone.

Only on monthly Motormouth, Get 70, Get 200 and Get 300 plans.

They may have had an issue April/May as I didn't get points until end June (and then too many since adjusted) but otherwise without fail this year.

Which is absolutely crazy and shows how Vodafone simply fail to keep up with the times. The AA rewards deal was never designed to work with "business" plans to stop people milking points off their work mobiles but now that You Choose is being pushed as the replacement for Motormouth & Get Plans it would seem fair to include them.

Oh... Fair enough then. The flaw in the process was on me, trying to register but not being in the right plan. My fault here.

Even so, it would be reasonable to expect that Vodafone's system should alert you to the reason why they are unable to offer you AA Rewards points. It's not particularly good service to just leave you sitting there wondering why the process has failed.

Out of curiosity, I have just checked my AA Rewards statement online, and my most recent transactions are presented like this:

See how there's a jumble of Vodafone transactions around the April-June period, with a couple of them being negative? This is really wierd, and makes me think that Vodafone have stuffed something up and then tried to manually fix their mistake.

The vodafone site actually says You Choose 20, 60 or 120 are included as well.


The registration form shown in the first post is only linked from the AA Rewards site and the vodafone page above (never directly) so it's pretty clear that only personal plans are included. Even the AA handbook notes only personal plans are eligible.

Just wondering if at anytime you called Vodafone customer service and asked them why it wouldn't work?

That would seem to be the easiest solution for the problem rather than trying to work it out for yourself surely?

Hmmm. No, I thought of that but decided not to. I waited three months because the page says "wait 30 days for activation", so until the 3 months have passed I couldn't be sure of anything - right or wrong. Then I just asked here. Sometimes much easier and better response than most service centres.

Also, if it wasn't a single case I could then escalate this if needed.
