hi! im using my Vodafone NZ prepaid in Australia  (roaming) but if someone tries to call me, I get charged! apparently its the roaming fees. it even charges me if i dont answer the calls.
I would like to know if theres any numbers i can use to divert all calls i recieve so it doesnt chew up my credits?

You can arrange with Vodafone to have all calls going directly to your Voice Mailbox and you can then use a single call to retrieve all messages. This shouldn't affect your account because the diversion is unconditional.

Full instructions are detailed on this page.

Prepay customers can not setup diverts this is restricted on the network side

And the reason why you are charged for calls you don't answer is because the call comes back to NZ to your voice mail box

If you don't want to pay for incoming calls turn your handset off is the only way

All Vodafone customers need to be aware that all calls diverted to voicemail on no answer while roaming will incur a roaming forward change for the length of the call. Vodafone don't make this clear on their website or anywhere in their roaming pack - they briefly mention it in the Australia roaming section but nowhere else. As I found out last year this can become very costly if you miss calls!

Question??

Would it be cheaper to get an Aussie Prepay Sim pack whilst you are over there??

sbiddle Your calls can only return to voice mail when on vodafone OZ not any other carrier

Thats why its only mentioned in the OZ part of the roaming info

It works on quite a few European Vodafone networks as well. You were the one who explained the charge to me last year when 777 couldn't and when I was in Europe after that last year I had quite a few charges appear on my bill and voicemail messages left succesfully. From memory I had charges appear in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic & Hungary (all roaming on Vodafone).
