Chill
Do you know if it uses more bandwith as iLBC or any other?

Yes, PCMA (More commonly referred to as "alaw", or "g711") uses 64kbps. When you factor in IP overheads, then if memory serves me correctly you're looking at nearly 110kbps over a PPPoA ADSL Connection.

If you're using iLBC (15.5kbps) it ends up around 44kbps when factoring IP overheads for a single call. Same if you use g729.

IF bandwidth is a premium, switch to g729 or (my favorite) iLBC.

That said, a single VoIP call doesn't use terribly much of your monthly usage unless you're on the phone 24/7, however if you're on a limited-upload connection you'll definitely get better quality out of iLBC :)

Bear in mind that g729 & iLBC *are* compressed, however IMO they still sound pretty darn good. Most un-trained people wouldn't know the difference in sound :D

Thats a thorough explanation and I'm sure I will look at this a few more times.
I think my BB plan which is 20GB fast up/down should be plenty.
Most likely I will try the iLBC again and check out if there is any noticeable change.
Have a good weekend, what's left of it!

Good to hear you seem to have got it sorted.
G711 (PCMA/U) consume approx 1.3MB per minute
G729 consume approx .5MB per minute

Yeah, it's going very well and I'm glad I moved one of our numbers over.
Things just take time.
Have a good day!
