You have no choice on what is installed on Windows 10 out of the box. Unless your company has an image that doesn't install these, the process will install games, links to games and other stuff that people in business will never use - or should be an option after installing Windows 10.

No that’s not true see my previous post.

But that's not out of the box - you have to have at least one user on the system to do the registry changes.

That’s true but you can’t have your cake and eat it as well.
But if you are running on the domain it can be disabled by group policy.

Sorry for all the extra quoting on a small screen.

It’s not preinstalled it installs as soon as there is an internet connection.

That is just symantics if one is doing the install of the Spring or Fall updates one has an internet connection. That aside IT SHOULD NOT install without the owners consent, PERIOD. I do not lease, rent or borrow my equipment from MSFT. I use an Operating system from them it should be my choice and my choice only what and when Apps are installed on MY devices.

Then there is the constant nagging about Chrome or Edge or what ever browser and the questions if I like Edge or recommend Edge or are infatuated with Redmond..........

That's a point without a difference.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I do all my testing in a VM environment with no internet access; every time I open the start menu and/or the search I get asked for credentials for the network so it can access the internet ..

After a few days however I do believe I have W10 1803 ready for deployment to any new systems we get (and yes, I removed copyprofile although it is in theory still supported except for custom start menus)

I suspect you lease the OS from MSFT but, no, I haven't read the legalese either...  Ditto Chrome, IOS.

Watch your region. Set it to anything at OOBE not NZ and you get a 'search windows' bar, or (and) cortana which want outside world too which can exhibit that along with any live update attempts
