Goodbye network settings.
Still going strong not encountered any problems as of yet.
I just received an email from Microsoft New Zealand:
Microsoft announced the Windows 10 April 2018 Update which will begin to become available for download on April 30 and start to rollout to Windows 10 PCs worldwide on May 8.
I'd say it's New Zealand time but not for Windows Update - probably direct download until next week. I can ask if you want...

I wonder what will be broken this release, or how many extra clicks basic functions will take, or whether search will finally work the way it should.
Will be US time probably something like 10am Pacific seems to be the normal...

I did not see any comments on line yet but it is still the 29th to them in the US.
Thus my question.
This release may be like patch Tuesday which we see on Wednesday ....
I have been using using the update in various forms on one of my machines and there really isn't much to it. It also hasn't really broken anything. On my main machines I will wait for it to via update.
Currently downloading it now via Windows Update.
EDIT: to add 'via Windows Update'.
Mon 8 = "patch tuesday"
So it will be DL now if you want and a standard WU cycle push then. (day after for us of course)
Installed no prob on one comp with another in the process.
Having been an Insider for years, these don't phase me.
Interesting, it was to be added to "update" on May 8 but it seems to be rolling out generally as all my windows machines are receiving the update.
Hard working people who rely on Windows 10 to actually get work done, would probably be prepared to pay Microsoft $100 for one of these seasonal updates provided it did not break anything or introduce any new features.

Don't ever bitlock a machine and hope that it can auto fix after BSOD. At least thats what I think is the most common thing I'm seeing atm. Failed patch, reboot.. oh can't seem to edit or fix the primary partition... reboot. Repeat
I've just installed it from Windows update and 2 observations so far:
* Its put an icon for Microsoft Edge on the desktop (another attempt to lure people away from Chrome?)
* When I first ran windows update it seemed to think I had group policy restrictions in place (this isn't a work laptop), yet after a reboot and tried it again the warning went away
