I have a friend on W10 tech preview. The machine got as far as a blue screen but refused to fully boot. I had to do a restore on it to get it to boot again.

networkn: Interesting Article, it's a couple weeks or more old but still:

http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2014/10/21/were-rolling-out-our-first-new-build-to-the-windows-insider-program/

I just got an email about this today but I think it refers to an update rolled out the other week as an "upgrade update" only.  It's now available I think as a clean install update..

Nope. A complete new build came out. It is an upgrade but there are direct links you can find to the ISOs.

It has some issues (as you would expect) but is still very usable.

been using windows 10 for a few weeks/months (whenever it was announced).   I haven't had any issues with it, very impressed.

The original release is better than subsequent builds, which is to be expected, though I wish I hadn't upgraded :)

Hopefully another stable builds comes out soon!

They said when the latest one came out that it was the last build for this year. I know a lot of people are hoping they backtrack on that :)

Yep that's newer.  Downloading as we speak.  Haven't found any  real problems with the last build except for the dual  login pictures at login..

I've had mobile graphics cards driver issues, graphical anomolies etc.

I was hoping for a stable build I could move my home PC to, but won't be this year now unfortunately.

Been on 9879 for a few days. Also don't think it is as sound as 9860 but certainly usable. I have a keyboard that now doesn't turn on the LEDs e.g. for capslock, numlock etc. This is quite a common problem it seems.

Had to re-install my HL-2140 laser ptr as well.

It's certainly a keeper for me so will persevere. At least it sleeps reliably unlike my setup with 8.1.

My Logitech keyboards are doing the same thing with the LEDs. Rather annoying but a reboot generally fixes it.
