For some reason I decided to investigate my clock speed and found that the win 10 Intel thermal management driver broke my Intel CPU turbo boost.

I had to use a 8.1 driver and now it's boosting again.

When Windows 10 came out, I was on metered bandwidth. One morning when I started the computer up it decided to start downloading on Windows Update, Windows 10. So I googled and found a way to disable it and forgot.

Then people started reporting that Windows 10 was better in interesting sounding ways. So I went to the website and tried to update, but it denied me the ability to do so due to lack of vendor support. I went to the HP website and they told me they don't support it for my laptop yet. Then I scratched my head for a while.

Eventually, I went and googled how to disable the auto-download, and went through all the various methods and found that a registry entry was in place explicitly disabling update. So I removed it and it updated. It was quick and painless.

Beyond the auto-updates, and the bandwidth stealing nonsense like peer to peer uploads to other people downloading it, no specific Windows 10 problems so far and it's been perhaps 4-6 months.

Had the same issue with a recent upgrade from 7 to 10 ( and then a fresh format / install over the top of that ), finding these p2p services is a bit like playing whack-a-mole. Could tip me over the ADSL cap if I was not watching the resource monitor and seeing where the requests were going to.

And why did Win10 insist on install Candy Crush, FFS !!! And 3D Builder, and skype..

Did find an issue with the Runtime broker hitting high CPU ( 90%+), but again using resource mon tracked it down to Win10 indexing a newly added Photos folder ( UNC desktop shortcut to a WHS).

Quite used to Windows 10 now - so much so that when I actually open the Windows 7-based HTPC I think it looks "strange".

Still haven't used - and have no intentions of - any of the modern apps. Office, Notepad++ browsers and Paint.Net FTW.

To disable the features, there is a group policy provided under “Computer Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Windows Components –> Cloud Content” called “Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences”

Yes. I'm beginning to hate the win 7 PCs that I have to use.

Re Apps -- I only use one app on my desktop machine (HP printer app, which is much better than the full version). But when I was in Europe with my win tablet, the apps were very useful -- travel, accommodation, maps, mail, all sorts of things -- much easier to use than doing things via IE or Edge.

Anyone else had issues With 10Pro & offline files (on simple, 3 PC, non server networks)

Nope. Not had any indications of that on my all Win 10 network.

I've just expanded from one to two Windows 10 computers and haven't noticed issues with offline files yet. I'll be adding another computer before July so will be able to check further but so far offline files are working for me.

No problems with offline files in our house (5 Windows 10 devices, 1 Mac, non-server basic home network also)

Some of the UWP apps have actually changed my desktop usage slightly - used to use the browser for email, calendar, facebook, reddit amongst heaps of others. Use store apps for those now (Mail, Readit, Facebook (and messenger) etc etc)

Using facebook in a browser is pretty weird for me now. So 2011 lol

Just upgraded my laptop today

anyone else had issues with a laptop taking ages to connect to the wifi or just not even connecting automatically at all?

at the moment i have to manually click on the wifi connection for it to connect
