also depend on what you mean by old version - if you mean 1507 - the first release of windows 10, then no, support has drop this month for it.If you on 1511, then you got till about end of the year to upgrade, and 1607 you have about 1 year till you need to upgrade.

Installed the update a few days back and haven't had any issues.
For me, I am extremely happy with it actually...
I have a 4K monitor and use Windows at 200% scale (the icons etc are just too small otherwise) and finally some of my much loved programs now look as they should given I can alter the compatibility setting to have the system handle the DPI scaling behavior.

Just received a Microsoft Surface Book. Nothing installed. Immediately upgraded to Creators Update and thought of using the built-in Mail, Calendar apps instead of Microsoft Outlook... Nope. Added two Office 365 accounts and regardless of what sync option is ("As items arrive") it only downloaded the emails when I first created the account. No amount of pushing the sync button makes these account sync again - and I can see emails arriving on my Android device so I know there's stuff coming in.

Installing Outlook. Can't be bothered, my time is too valuable to beta test Mail and Calendar apps.

Its really puzzling how there seems to be a canyon separating the office product, and windows product.

For example, screen sketch. (Press Winkey + w) Its got a few extra features that make it better then the snip tool. But try and send your snip to an outlook email. Nope. Only Mail app. Seriously shaking my head.

Windows 10 Pro. Surface Book, Intel i7-6600U, 8GB. A good grunty machine actually. Love the keyboard (compared to the flimsy Surface Pro, this is bliss) and the screen.

the apps aren't beta unless you've opted into Windows Insider, which it sounds like you haven't

Please put this feedback into the Feedback Hub tool so logs can be collected from your machine to see what is going on.

I have multiple different O365 accounts added to my Mail app and they just work.

Whatever your problem is, it isn't common

No Surface device ships with Home, and only Surface Laptop currently uses Windows 10 S.

I know they aren't beta. But the quality feels like.

That's ok, I am using Outlook 2016 which works just fine. As I mentioned I don't have time to work out problems on apps that have less functionality than full Office applications.

Windows should be an operating system, not an office app + browser + news app + weather app + games. These should all be additional stuff, not distributed with the core OS and feedback for these should be separate and distinct from OS because the Windows dev team should really just focus on getting Windows working.

But I know comments like this displease some at Microsoft and are often ignored.

The Mail/Calendar App may not be beta but it is very basic and probably best suited to those with modest mail and scheduling needs.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I do check for critical security updates at regular intervals, as well as Defender. When I have a day to spend putting back everything Windows rearranges, I also do a full update. This works for me. If I ever hit a tree, the worst that can happen is I will have to do a restore. That is a price I am happy to pay.

I'd like to report that the last "update" broke my laptop, was very reluctant to update to creators, but bit the bullet, backed up everything and updated, and whatever it broke, it's fixed it with this update!

Try it. I think this is the real deal. But yeah I will be reluctant again when it's time to update next.

I went into the feedback hub to report that when I locked my Surface Pro 4, then unlocked it 5 minutes later, all my windows went onto my secondary screen. This is probably related to Windows knowing which is my primary screen, but putting my task bar on the wrong screen when I boot - but only sometimes.

Problem is the feedback hub isn't working. I tried it a few times.

2/3 of my machines this app doesn't work. You'd think given how hard they are pressing people to use it, they would ensure it was working.

I had a horrible memory allocation issue with Creator Hyper-v today inside a Creator guest. Dynamic memory set for the guest and could not even start Task Manager. Never seen anything like it. I see there are some Hyper-V changes related to memory management so I'm feeling that something broke.
