Why not? What about people who use heroin, can I "insult" them? It's my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right. It's harmful, it wrecks families, it's evil and I think anyone that tries it once, let anyone has the stupidity to KEEP USING it, is a moron.

Win10 running very well on gaming rig, work laptop and SP3. Lumia 930 is a work in progress still but to be expected from prerelease software.
Used Win7 on a clients machine for the first time in ages the other day. Wow. Definitely cannot go back to anything before Win10 without feeling like a caveman.

Edge has shown to me to be a competent enough browser. Needs extensions and a few other tweaks and features. Once that happens, FF will be relegated to my backup browser.
I wouldn't go near chrome with a 10 foot pole while wearing a radiation suit. Way too much bloat these days. I don't need what is essentially Chrome OS to browse the web. FF is excellent and Edge not far behind. Both quite fast.

At work it's the same as a personal/home install though, we don't have a domain or anything.

It's working great. Better performance on my 7 year old XPS than Windows XP/Windows 8.1

I agree the Start Menu is still on drugs and the terrible mismash of control panel with the stupid tablet GUI for some settings, and the legacy windows GUI for others, is insane. It's like they know it's unfinished but just released it anyway.

But to do work on, it's fine.

Finally: What kind of Moron uses a Microsoft Browser? I mean really? The only use-case I can understand is people who have to use one for particular webapps etc.

More and more businesses and Govt seem to be making sites that only work properly on one browser or another. IE has been the standard for a lot of NZ govt sites to test against.

Lots of cloud bases SAAS sites, use webdav to connect to online templates (e.g. word / excel) which then opens in browser. That works better using Active X and Ie and Silverlight etc than in other browsers.

Personally i use three web browsers concurrently - it's the only easy way to be logged into google as my webmaster account, a business account with calendars and as a non logged in user testing stuff.

log me in for example, - the onlline remote desktop, using a web browser, is more feature fulled than the other browser versions. I suspect it is activeX / silverlight type applications embedded in a browser.

Lastly, IE seems to be less dicky around flash at present. Chrome - is a nightmare for clients having to re-enable Chrome and Java, Firefox is headed in the same direction. Sometimes IE is the easiest one to get thme to use to get things working.

disclaimer- I still think embedding your web browser and mail functionality and javascript / apps into your Os is one of the most stupid things you cxan do from a security perspective - and millions of MS exploits show i aint wrong there. One more reason to not use Win X

I'm feeling like my decision to keep clients of Windows 10 is being vindicated - lots of grumpiness as the shiny new feeling disappears and the I'm sick of glitches blues kick in.

After now losing stuff twice because its decided that it wanted to reboot, have disabled the windows update service which will hopefully put an end to that. Will try to remember to re-enable it sometime after patch tuesday but probably will forget.

Absurd decision to annoy people with a full screen popup about restarting and then refusing to defer it past a certain time.

and by turning off updates you will now be punished by Microsoft. There is no winner in this scenario.

Linux mint is running beautifully for my kids who play using steam, youtube etc, my wife finds it the same as win7 and so far we have had no cause to return to windows. Finally a linux desktop for joe overage.

No problems with it so far on personal gaming rig or laptop, starting internal trials of it at work in the next few weeks, with a view towards it being the primary enterprise OS within 12 months.

Have upgraded 3 laptops at home and meh , I seem to have nothing but problems with networks, sometimes they see them and then sometimes not which is a real pain in the ars* , AMD drivers suck and every time there is an update I have to go into the registry and do a heap of changes to stop the 5 minute boot up.

I have to be honest I really just prefer windows 7

Our most modern device a school tablet handles win 10 fine. An AIO touch screen Lenovo seemed OK to start with, but developed problems later and causes my wife frustration. My own older desktop i7 came with Win 7 when it was new. I loaded Win 10 when it was offered and suffered access and control issues straight away, other problems started to appear soon afterwards so defaulted back to Win 7. However residue administrator problems affect all images that were on My Pictures folders. Our oldest PC came out with XP and continues to tick along on XP unsupported. Conclusion the older the PC the more problems it has with Win 10. I may consider Win 10 when I next upgrade, if MS allow users to own their own PC's again and not take control through other MS programs and Gmail accounts.

I had a blue screen of death when I was on the fast ring update program , yes it was related to the Safe Boot option in the UEFI bios , which I had to disable .. That was not helpfull and not broadcast a lot I found, luckily I google the version before rebooting (cant remember the ver).

I have had a recent network glitches with 2 Win 10 pcs where 1 would see itself and the other , but the other would not see the other under Network (Explorer) ,

PS ANyone here use the HomeGroup thing windows has ?, Not sure if its worth the hassle ?

My little pipo PCs are both fine on 10. My vensmile little PC has stuffed wifi nomater what driver I try, so I think its furthur up the device tree that there are issues since the wifi on that is a SDIO device. Gaming PC was ok once I removed the gfx card and upgraded then reinstalled it.

I have a server 2008 machine on the lan here which seems to make all the finding other computers just work properly.

Have upgraded:

1 x Gaming Desktop
1 x Laptop
1 x HTPC
1 x Surface Pro 3

So far no major issues or even recurring niggles. Everything is much faster than Windows 8.1 (which in turn was much faster than Windows 7). Stability is excellent, no crashes since launch day.

Have not run into any issues with program compatibility over and above what was experienced with 7/8.1.

Very happy, would recommend 100% to others.

Mixed results from me - seems good on a homebuilt desktop. My 2013 Sony Vaio laptop however, still doesn't have the drivers etc promised by Sony for Nov 15 so has some niggling problems: fan runs full speed on startup until machine has been restarted, machine crashes if separate display card is used, and the rogue "runtime broker" process keeps reviving itself and sucking 20-30% CPU cycles

The other general dislike I have is that it seems one step towards the Apple attitude of keeping the user away from hardware/OS - ie getting to change settings is just harder

For me great. Works perfectly/seemlessly on desktop and on my eight inch tablet. Great to finally properly scale between devices. Runs games faster than 7. Desktop is old too. No hardware issues (and if you have a laptop and it has driver issues, well just blame the MANUFACTURER, not microsoft. They don't have anything to do with your lack of driver updates)

Initially skype was causing crashes. But I reported it, and it's fixed now. The edge browser seems lacking, but most techies don't use native browsers anyway. I use opera, mainly for its tasty speed dial.

The legacy text/control panel could use updating to the look, but I'd rather they focused on other things first, like the expansion of continuum so that you can continue on one device, where you left off on another.

Yeah, all good. Very pleased, and a returned fan of microsoft.

Oh and the right click option on the start menu is boss. That and the action center make getting to anything several less steps than before.
