1101:networkn: wouldn't MS be better off listening to it's users instead of arguing with them?
never going to happen :-)
Dratsab: You're right to stay away from Windows 10 for as long as you can. I've upgraded my desktop which now freezes regularly requiring constant power cycling. Credit where credit's due - compared to 7 (which I upgraded from) it's lightening fast, especially at boot, but there are other problems.
For me the biggest of which is that with the latest batch of force-fed upgrades Microsoft have broken networking. NAS devices can no longer be seen in Explorer, fortunately the shortcuts I had previously set up for them still work. But open Explorer as is and try and navigate to a NAS - simply can't. I also can't save documents directly to any NAS from my scanner via it's own software because of this. It kind of beggars belief that Microsoft can make such a royal screw-up of such a fundamental process but they have.

I think this is absolutely correct. I think the noise of individuals (even though there's many of them worldwide) is water off a ducks back. If all those individuals started to coalesce into a group I believe we'd start to see a [different] reaction.
Edit: grammar poor
Shoes2468: Oh well just wait until they make it a recommended update instead of optional, see how many people install it then!

Our early data shows customers from France to Brazil to China to the US strongly preferring Windows 10 over Windows 8.1 or Windows 7. Through the usage of these first adopters of Windows 10, and great work by the Windows ecosystem of developers, application compatibility and kinks have been worked out of Windows 10.
We will soon be publishing Windows 10 as an “Optional Update” in Windows Update for all Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 customers. Windows Update is the trusted, logical location for our most important updates, and adding Windows 10 here is another way we will make it easy for you to find your upgrade.
Early next year, we expect to be re-categorizing Windows 10 as a “Recommended Update”. Depending upon your Windows Update settings, this may cause the upgrade process to automatically initiate on your device.
