Regs:wreck90:As for SSD, the advice i got from OCZ - the ssd manufacturer - about a month ago, was this: "At the moment, nothing special is needed except to not sleep the drive".nathan: Windows 7 already optimises for SSD use
Is it not doing this for you?
No it doesn't.
There are a number of actions you need to take to maximise the lifespan of the SSD.
Here is an optimisation guide...

There are other things as well, such as ensuring disks always remain on---SSD's don't like having their power cut as they are busy even when idle.
Windows 7 doesn't allow selective drive depowering.
Your article that you linke is from the start of 2010. Thats nearly 2 years old.
Yet, on the OCZ guide they list some items.
The physics of SSD has not changed since 2010. Cells degrade with write cycles. You want to minimise write cycles.
You're still using the same windows 7 that you were using in 2010.
Things such as indexing are not good for your drive.
You should also make sure you are not defragging your drive.
You really should read the ocz optimizations that are needed for the OS.
