yes the dock can natively drive 2 monitors, up to 3840 x 2160

+
3 USB2
1 USB3
Ethernet
Audio In
Audio Out
Power

So its a proper dock not just a port replicator

cool, thanks Nathan. Being able to drive multiple monitors is a biggie for me. Ill have to see if I can talk the boss into getting one in for "testing" purposes.

off topic a little but how do you get the dual monitors to connect? Is there a mini display port cable that has two connections off it?X

A long shot but any chance that we will be given the option to do a trade in with the Surface Pro?

Surface Pro only supports 1 external monitor off the mini DisplayPort

You can use some more through the USB3 with DisplayLink adapters

With the surface pro 2 how do you connect 2x monitors. My monitors use DVI/HDMI/VGA and do not have display port.

USB DisplayLink adapter, you can have multiple of those, I've seen someone using 4 of those to drive 4 monitors off their Surface Pro

DisplayPort to DVI/HDMI/VGA converter is also available as an accessory

I will confirm Surface Pro 2 supports DisplayPort chaining or MST when I can confirm

I'm not sure, but I suspect that one just stretches an image across 2 screens

Am I correct in thinking the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are available on the 22 October in New Zealand?
