Sure folks, but you seem to forget that OneDrive is closely tied to Windows 8 and more so to Windows 10...

Thing is, if they back track on it, people will be happy, but they will hopefully still be able to see the likely trend going forward.

hat are your thoughts on this?

This is Microsoft. It was inevitable. That's why I don't use their stuff if I can avoid it. "Bait and switch" has been their standard mode for decades.

Google gives you 15GB or whatever...and they never give you less than that. It may go up.....but it never goes down. I can trust that.

I don't think this is a MS specific initiative. Google is a very different company to MS anyway, but I don't think it would surprise me if Google did something similar. I don't think it's a case of MS==Bad Google==Good.

It would be funny if Apple now decided to up the storage and drop the price on their service, just to be mean...

I wouldn't put it past them.

I expect to see a few companies being opportunistic.

Except Apple seldom discounts, the 3rd gen TV an exception of late. The have recently rejigged their cloud offerings however.

What would you suggest for a mixed network, that is, Windows 10, Windows 7, OSX Yosemite, IOS, Android, Xbox One and Panasonic TV?

with the option for remote access.

No I'm glad I never made the change to set OneDrive as the default My Documents save location.  Now I'll only really use Onedrive as temporary file share service.

The Camera Roll service is handy, will need to research other options for that..

What's the storage? A NAS or a Windows box?

All three solutions have mobile clients anyway.
