Its Windows 10, its been my daily driver for a month

Its obviously still a long way from release, but pretty stable, all my apps and VPN/DA etc work

Since you're from MS, do you know/are you allowed to say why it's called windows 10?

the old style Start menu. NOT just another interface for tiles .

Nameless1: Win 7 has right click start but only has properties and win explorer.

so you can right-click start menu and get "Personalise" and "Properties". Just need to right-click on a non active part of the start menu (not a tile or program entry)

Are you looking for the double rectangle icon (as per the 2 images above). Third icon from the left in the task bar

I think that's what you're after :)

Just out of curiosity...what trouble did you have without it? I regularly remote into my work Windows 8 desktop from home and have never had any trouble getting the job done...

Well, I've installed it at home and I'm not getting black windows so it looks like that was indeed a VMware issue. I've reported a fair few other bugs though, from simple things like double-clicking the control box not closing metro apps, to the PC Settings app crashing when you try to get into "more options available online".

Alas, I see that my most hated "feature" of Windows 8 has made it across, specifically the "mess with your BIOS settings and set self as first boot priority".

Umm... that's a straight lift from the quotes that the MS Marketing spinmeisters have been providing to websites such as gizmodo, and doesn't really shed much light at all on WinX. Plus, it's supposed to be an operating system, not a religious experience.

For reference, what I demand of this version of WinX isn't much different from what I have always demanded - stable, functional, and with a sane and usable user interface. A requirement which Win8 failed so dramatically and inexplicably.

Anybody tried putting this on a surface pro? I've got a gen 1 SP that I mostly just use for media and web\email type stuff -would be nice to try it on. Possible? What are the risks\chances of rolling back to 8.1 if needed?
