nzkiwiman:

I am wondering if I even bother trying to get 1809 configured and working in the environment .. we are only 3 ish months away from 1903 right ..

Microsoft would be doing themselves & users  a huge favour if they eased up on the new features & re-employed a large number of paid windows 10 quality testers.  In the last few days I have read several good articles on how Microsoft have really lost the plot on development and testing of new versions such as 1809.  I used XP and Windows 7 for years, and enjoyed how basic features would stay the same year after year.  Even the little things like wallpaper and themes have been made too complicated & change too often.  Look at what they are putting on the log-in screen.   Anyway, I am quite happy with Xubuntu & its 1997 style desktop!

My HTPC just updated from 1803 to 1809 without any issues that I can see.

One down, two to go.
