Basically, I have legit copy of Windows 7, signed up for Insider program for the previews etc and also had the pop up for upgrading to Windows 10 which I accepted etc. So all ready for Win 10.
Except I then had to blow away my system due to a dodgy Windows Update (I had no System Restore running), reinstalled Windows 7, and avoided doing all the updates (been told which update is causing the issue yet can never see it in the list so I figured I wont do them all) - so since I havent updated much, I havent been seeing the Win 10 popup again.
Then last night, a friends kid knocked the power board my PC is connected to, and somehow caused bit of a surge which knocked out my PC..... power back on and it installed a heap of updates and now system just crashes in a loop again - system restore not working (altho it was enabled).
Figured Ill just wait until 10 is released this week and reinstall then. But am I able to just download the 10 image and install from scratch or do I NEED 7 for that first time upgrade for it to check license etc ? Dont really want to go through two install processes in one week ;)
TIA
