Ok

Computer was running fine Windows 10, when all of a sudden it just dropped dead, rebooting led to beeping, so popped the cover off and found a huge tiger slug sidling around the motherboard, removed tiger slug, and the stick of ram the bugger was slobbering on, rebooted computer, and it works ok, however the ram seems to be poked and the slot seems to be stuffed as well, (The tiger slug was hale and hearty and disappeared out the ranch slider while i was dealing with this).

So if my computer does drop dead soon and I replace the motherboard/cpu/ram etc will slug damage be a valid reason, for microsoft or will i need a new licence?

Also should I get rid of windows AV and replace it with Yates Blitzem

I have recently activated windows on a computer where everything but the harddrive was replaced.

Didn't even have too call microsoft.  Changed the MB, Ram, CPU put the old hardrive back and went through the changed hardware reactivation and all good.

Ive flushed so many of those damn slugs recently. Not sure how they get in but at about 2-3 am there will be 1-2 dining on the catfood that has spilled out of the plate most nights.

Just a tip - if you've got a Microsoft account linked to your PC then your digital entitlement for Windows 10 with that Windows 7-8-8.1 serial number still stands. You're free to replace your montherboard or do a major change assuming you're signing in with the same serial number and Microsoft don't detect another device with that serial number.

Gone are the days of being able to activate multiple devices! I installed Windows 10 to test it on my new PC build and activated a Windows 8.1 serial totally fine.

I'm surprised my server has'nt had a cockroach community move in, it just sits in the garage, nice and warm.

Found all sorts of critters in past customers machines.

No idea

It sits next to the ranch slider, but we have a big screen door which is closed, and there are no holes, can't figure it out, and to get into the back of the computer it crawled in through a slot that isn't covered.

Blasted thing

supposedly , a saucer of beer will kill slugs (havnt tried this myself) . Safer on pets than poisons & slug pellets .

I've had ants move into my PC , setting up a colony & moving ant eggs in there
After the ants & the fly spray to kill them, my motherboard was dead .

For some reason I found this way more entertaining than I should. (Probably the thread title; tigers, slugs, sheep, drivers licences, and boarding - the slug in the machine was just the icing on the cake, and it was delicious.)

I' also found one of these last week on the bathroom floor at 2am in the morning. Not sure how it got in either. Not cool, slimy things like this give me the creeps.
