Hi,

About half the times when I use the net to view any sort of streaming media (either from youtube or somewhere else) the sound on it doesn't work. Sometimes I can just exit out of Firefox, reopen it and then it works and other times I have to restart the whole computer. Any ideas what this problem is??

Thanks

When Flash loads for the first time in a browser it uses the first available sound card it can find. This sound card remains the active device in Flash until the browser is closed and reopened.

Are you using a Bluetooth or USB headset? If so, then the sound card device is only available when the headset is connected. For instance, I use a Bluetooth A2DP headset and the Bluetooth Audio device is only enabled once the headset is connected to the computer. For this reason, I have to connect the headset before I start my browser or media player software to ensure that the correct sound card is selected.
