tvnz.co.nz Olympics Site "Streaming media" Not working in my safari... whats the problem (or my problem)

Hi, Im wanting to watch the streaming media channels on tvnz.co.nz
Im using latest safari and just upgraded flip4mac.

The screen just keeps reloading itself until it crashes and sometimes flip4mac produces a dialouge box to say "sorry cant do".

any ideas what the problem is or any alternative plugs I could use instead of flip4mac?

It's not just your problem. It appears to be an issue with Safari, although strangely it only emerged yesterday. The day before it streamed perfectly.

No idea what the problem is though. Firefox will work, but there are some problem with the screen layout.

Sorry that I can't help.

John H.

Why not get a dedicated media player and stream from it - that's what I'm doing - 700kbps of TV ONE (mens gymnastics right now)

Just get the details of your required stream by looking into the source code.

rscole86,
Too bad the High Quality (700kbps) stream doesn't work.   Selecting that option still yields the Standard Quality (381 kbps) stream.

Tony.

Are you sure?

I'm reading 610kbps right now.

They did reduce it somewhat from yesterday when it was at times up to 2mbps (a huge difference in picture quality)

I am certain of it.   Man, that sucks.  I have TC's 25mbps plan, and I'm stuck on 381kbps for the Beijing Olympics.  So how the Hell are you getting 610kbps then?  Maybe it's a regional thing.  I'm in Chch.

My stream still gets cut down to 381kbps even when using the same notation, ie, mms://live.tvnz.co.nz/tvnz1-live_700k
 grrrrr.

Try my direct MMS link (open up WMP and press CTRL+U), but otherwise I don't know why you can't get 700kbps...

EDIT: Looks like you answered that one. But the picture size is completely different... strange.
