Ok I officially hate the new stuff android app after the latest changes. It's uninstalled. But I do want an app that gives me a good news feed with some nz news. Or if not an app something mobile friendly. Any suggestions?

The stuff app is probably best described as an entertainment app for the non-discerning. It ceased to be a news app some months back. Uninstalled.

I may be an optimist, but I read the headline, and actually thought there may be a discussion of an App that would actually serve up good news for a pleasant change. Would that be more worthwhile than any app that dished up 'Bad' news really efficiently/elegantly/legibly (or any other criteria for goodness)?

I now have bookmarked Google news. As a google user, signed into Chrome, it also recommends articles based on my browsing.
