Hey there,

My folks just bought a couple of 10 litre water bottles from Countdown, the "New Zealand Spring Water" variety (progressive's own brand) and we can't figure out how to use it.

It has a plug with a small nub on it, which we suppose is a kind of "tap" that must be pressed down while the container is in the 'lying down' position.
It does nothing at all as it comes, but the plug can be pulled out and pushed in not-so-far so that it looks like the water should pass through the notch cut in the bottom.
However; if you lay it flat, it just pours out straight away.

Has anyone used these befoire?

Tell them to turn on their normal tap.

The water will surprisingly still come out...

Push the bung back in properly. Lie it down with spout hanging over side of bench. Lift 'nub' in centre and water will flow. It just deforms the bung enough to open it like a gland.

It worked. Thanks!

We kind of figured it out ourselves at the same time. You just have to press it hard enough.

And if you haven't already stab the top of the container (above the waterline :P)to provide a suction relief hole....this will make it flow better and stop it "glugging"

Well that's the most unhelpful comment of the week.
Was it meant to be funny?
