Bought a $93 table saw blade on June 17th with free shipping from Amazon AU. Credit card has not been charged yet.

Have just managed to find out that delivery is expected to be Aug 9th.

Not overly impressed with the long delivery time as webpage is still saying free delivery to NZ by July 7th.

Is this normal at the moment?

Depends if its sold by Amazon AU or via Amazon AU. If its sold by Amazon I usually get within the week.

Everything says Amazon Au, no third party mentioned.

Yea this is normal. The free shipping seems to be a bait and switch tactic, you’ll find the order sits dormant for a long time and may eventually ship. One item I ordered keep going out of stock between ordering it and the order being collated for shipping. I eventually gave up on free delivery and paid for the faster option, which arrived very quickly

In my experience, Amazon US orders tend to arrive more quickly than AU ones.

Just message their support, and they'll credit you the shipping charge. Win-win.

Quite a few things that you buy from Amazon Au actually come from Amazon US.

I find that they will often cancel one of the things that you ordered to get to the free shipping threshold and ship the others and charge you for shipping, which sucks when the things you get were just things you added to get the free shipping on the one thing you wanted which they cancelled. I am really souring on amazon for that thing they keep pulling.

I order from Amazon AU quite regularly, though I'm careful to only order things that are actually at the Amazon AU warehouse, rather than them being a proxy for AWS US. Shipments are usually free and arrive within a week - I ordered something yesterday / Sunday and it's meant to arrive Friday, so 6 days.

Occasionally something is out of stock or sourced from a third party supplier, in that case it can take weeks to ship or even longer. I've not had a shipment have an item cancelled and then get charged for shipping, but I'm not saying it couldn't happen, just that it hasn't happened to me.

They can do fast shipping with DHL which arrives very quickly, if you pay extra or they're running late, but free shipping is usually nzpost.

I've had things as quickly as 2 days and as long as 10 days. It's usually 5-6 days.
