LYuen:

Still waiting is an order with AliExpress Standard Shipping via Singapore Post.

It has been 48 days and still counting.  The last message was 'dispatched' from Singapore on 1 August and still no updates from NZPost.

Mine is probably in the same container. I used to prefer items dispatched from Singapore vs China due to their quicker arrival speed. That is definitely no longer the case.

It used to be at least 3 flights per day between Singapore and Auckland with SQ flying A380s

And now it is like 4-5 flights per week with A350?

While the flight frequency between Guangzhou or Shenzhen (where cargo usually departs from) is just halved (or quartered, still better than Singapore).

Anyone have an idea about what has changed? Ali Standard Shipping has been 2 weeks max for me (ugreen via Singapore often <10 days) now its blowing out past a month, likely more.

Im assuming covid has changed something with NZCustoms or NZPost and theyre refusing to say what it is (I got the standard response from NZPost - "your package isn't in NZ yet"....so its been flying for 3 weeks???). Sellers are all saying the packages are in NZ too.

Im guessing customs have warehoused/containered a few shipments due to covid, so they never received their inbound scan. I don't care too much about the delay, but I wish they'd give us something to go with.

I received a few at the height of level 4 and immediately following it. So something must have changed recently.

Bit of a shame, I'm gonna miss my < 10 day ali express standard shipping loophole :(

DHL and TNT are getting through in <5 days still, although you often have to pay for that. Stay away from UPS though...

'Dispatched' from SGPost means SGPost has secured a slot on an upcoming scheduled flight, which used to be within 72 hours in the past.

After dispatched, there are still some procedures, such as the actual flight departure, flight arrival, received by Customs, released by Custom and then received by NZPost/last-mile carrier.

I do not think these procedures are tracked on SGPost, but they are in fact tracked by China Post ePacket, with my example:

17 Aug - Pick up

19 Aug - Handed over to airline (Guangzhou)

27 Aug - Airline departure

28 Aug - Airline arrival

2  Sep - Internation arrival by NZPost

5  Sep - Delivered

So the only status skipped was Custom, but by the dates you can tell it was between 28 August and 2 September.

Noted the parcel waited 8 days from hand over to departure, while the flight between Guangzhou and Auckland currently operates around 5 flights per week.

You can imagine the situation in Singapore is far more horrific, as the transfer capacity could just be 1/4 of its original schedule.

By the way, do you have orders via SG still stuck at 'dispatched'? Would you mind sharing the date of dispatch and dispatch number?

I have an item dispatched on 1 August with number 0149, not yet arrived in NZ (it shows).

All of mine are stuck at departed country of origin. Dates ranging from 19th August to 30th July

And for a giggle here is the one from TNT.

Free shipping...4 DAYS. New PB ha ha.

Looking at aliexpress reviews, the ali standard delay seems to be a global issue. So probably not nzpost/customs? Who knows.

Throw the number to SGPost and NZPost tracker.

SGPost: https://www.singpost.com/track-items

it said it was dispatched on 16 August, while it appeared as 'international departure' on NZPost

Due to the lack of flights, there is a fair chance your parcel is still sitting at Singapore.

neb: Interesting, thanks for the info. I just had an Ali dispute handled within two days and have the refund, as you say the seller wasn't involved. Wouldn't have bothered me really, I added a note to say I'd be fine with extending it another 30 days but they just auto-approved it.

So a followup to this, the item actually arrived about two weeks after the three-month timer ran down and I got refunded so I emailed the seller to say I'd like to (re-)pay them since it did actually arrive. They replied to say that since they didn't get it to me within the time window there was no need to pay, and thanks for your business. That was pretty impressive.

My parcel is supposedly still airborne since July!

(AliExpress Standard Shipping. Pre-Covid it would average 2 weeks order to delivery. Even with CourierPost adding days!)

Have my 16 July order (Ali standard via SGPost) landed at Auckland late yesterday, this is my educated guess on delivery time..

From Chinese warehouse to airports - tracked

From Chinese airports to Singapore - 1 week

From Dispatching from Singapore to arrival at Auckland - 6 weeks

From International arrival to received by NZPost - 1 week

Local courier - depends on your area, 3 working days for me

Mine was dispatched on 1 Aug at SG, so I think your package could arrive in 3 weeks?

My most recent AliExpress Standard Shipping packages have been routed via UBI, so hopefully they will be a little faster. Along with one routed via Singapore Post, they're still within the expected delivery dates, so too soon to tell if there are any delays using that service.

I also had one package sent via EMS. In transit for 16 days, arriving in NZ yesterday.

Not AliExpress, but my package from Lithuania took 12 days from sending to delivery.

Ordered something from DHGate - not quite AliExpress but still came from China.

Package came in just over a week I think so I was pretty satisfied.

Mate just checked that your package is received and is in transit by NZPost.

Use their tracker for updates!  Can arrive at any time...
