networkn: That there are 5 times the number of things that annoy people on this site than things that make people smile.
Hopefully, 2022 can help balance things out.

Are you kidding? If I have to stop complaining about things, I'll complain about it!

Should be if you post in here, you have to post something in the smile thread too. :)

I almost made it to 2022 and all I got from the SCI-FI books of my youth was the lousy dystopian pandemic.

Reading people on Reddit having a good old whinge about empty houses in Remuera and proudly promoting squatting, vandalism and "F%$^ the rich" etc.

I was downvoted for suggesting that we all go to their houses and hang out indefinitely, while destroying their stuff.

I don't like the idea of land banking either, but if someone has the money, why should it matter to me whether they live in the property they buy or not? It's not like they're "first home buyer" properties...these are multi-million-dollar properties that are well beyond the means of a normal human.

Jealousy...anoys the hell out of me.

Having an old database schema with the wrong datatype for a counter - and the COVID thread just went past it.

Lucky a quick fix that took about ten seconds...

Well, my problem was advertising inside the keyboard. Your suggestion seems to be for data storage. I don't see the connection.

Privileged executives. This one making $585,000/year at a delivery company.

Business Insider AU: A DoorDash employee making US $400K a year complained about a company-wide initiative requiring that he personally make one delivery a month

Delivery service DoorDash is making all its employees — even the CEO — deliver at least once a month, but not everyone is happy about the initiative, and some employees have turned to an anonymous employee social platform to vent.

Today I got a prickle in my left ring toe. Quite possibly the most painful thing I have ever experienced.

Some might say I haven't lived, and no doubt that's true by many arbitrary measures, but this tiny little thing really hurt!

The fact that I have a nice new GoPro to attach to my Spyder when I leave early on Tuesday for the South Island and (a) it takes micro SD cards when every camera I own takes standard SD cards of which I have many and (b) Noel Leeming, the only realistic source of such things around here, has none in stock of decent spec or quality.

Combined with the fact that it is a bank holiday on Monday so when I go over to Wellington in the afternoon pre-ferry, none of the camera shops etc will be open...

Second smallest toe on my left foot. I had to look up what it was called, so I'm not surprised someone is asking.
