bazzer:

When you go to spend the Jaycar rewards you earned last year only to discover they expire after 6 months (most of which was during a lockdown). Especially since no one mentioned that at the time and they don't send a reminder.

They had no interest in entering into a discussion about it. Thumbs down Jaycar. 🙁

Happy ending [SFW]!

I always get offered to use or save my points when I shop there. Maybe I spend too much with them …

Todays annoy, getting a taxi ride and the driver indicated right at every round about despite going straight through them all. The reactions from other drivers that sat there giving way to a car they didn’t need to was priceless.

Idiot drivers who indicate wrongly on roundabouts are probably responsible for majority of accidents in those locations.

I tend to agree, but also wonder about drivers (other drivers obviously) who assume that other people haven't just got it wrong. They assume an indicator is on for a reason and it wasn't left on from the previous whatever it was, for instance.

I have worked out how folks got the wrong idea about intersection indicating. The Road Code and the the PR at the time was very clear

Actually a bank holiday is what the ASB does in its branches between serving each customer that's waiting in line.

The roundabout near my place has 80% of the traffic veering left onto the first exit, whereas I need to go straight through.

I know in theory I shouldn't be indicating right before I indicate left, but the traffic coming the other way from the first exit assumes that I will be part of the 80% veering left, even if I don't indicate left, and I've lost count of the number of times I've nearly been T-boned by not showing that I'll be cutting in front of them.

Accordingly, at this roundabout (and this one alone) I indicate right purely out of self-preservation. I use it as a "Look out, I'll be cutting in front of you" warning.

Reminds me of the last time I went into BNZ to get some actual cash money. Couldn't be done they said, have to go outside and use the ATM. One of most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

(I wanted a specific amount for some reason, didn't wants 20s or 50s).

Yep. I needed $2000 cash one day and the teller told me to go to the ATM - after I waited in the queue behind two people in front of me. She could as easily just have swiped my card and handed the money.

...Similar to the bottom of our road where you can either go straight or turn left. 90% turn left. So if you're at the bottom waiting to turn right into that road you get to watch almost everyone turn before they get to you but you still get to wait for the odd one who goes straight, though of course most of those still turn left, its just too much effort for them to indicate.

Sounds like bank tellers don’t actually handle cash any longer - which I find very hard to believe. Maybe they were indulging in ‘customer re-education’ to suit their own objectives.

I think as long as you indicate left before exiting then that's reasonable and shouldn't really affect any other users. Indicators are after all for indicating what you're doing.

There's a couple of roundabouts I frequent where the line between straight and right is a bit blurry. I would always err on the side of caution and indicate right but make sure I indicate left on exit. How could that cause a problem? I don't think most traffic is aware of where you were before the previous exit anyway.

Yesterday I had one indicate left and then go straight. Fortunately she was going fairly slowly so we didn't crash, as I'd pulled out and started turning right. I suspect this was a 'change of mind' as she was certainly going slowly enough to turn left.

Yep, there's one near me where 'straight' is straight when going north (George St to K Drive), but is more of a turn to the right when going south. I indicate right when going south, but not when going north (although in both cases I indicate left just before I turn off).
