I think he has lots of unpaid taxes to catch up on which is probably the reason for being desperate enough to star in two Ghost Rider movies.

Well, the first Ghost Rider movie was because he's a massive comic book nerd (he named his son Kal-El). The second one can only be explained by either bankruptcy, or wanting to be the next Michael Caine (take any movie offered and hope for some good ones).

Kal-El - Epic, so wish I'd thought of that instead of MacGyver! NM Both are awesome!

seriously, how do they make so much money?
- K Stew only ever has ONE expression
- none of the others have more than ONE expression
- i think coronation street has more in terms of quality of acting and script writing

cgi and surround sound was ok but not another teen movie!

Watched Life of Pi last night. An enthralling story with great effects, although I wasn't expecting to end up in a 90s Telecom ad :P

I recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. It's on iTunes US for $15 (and is actually the first movie that I've bought from there).

jayveeee: BTW, thanks for reminding me that my computer/monitor is long overdue for replacement with your HUGE picture upload. Well, my monitor at least - I had to ZOOM OUT to fit everything on my screen. lol

I already dropped it down to quarter size! But now I've changed it to a link.

Edit: And $15 US isn't too bad; most new-release DVDs are more than that and the iTunes downloads are in HD.

Finally got round to seeing Django Unchained. Good but not great, although it had the potential to be great (great characters, great cast, great story) what let it down for me was the length. I really didn't feel that it had to be a three hour film, every scene just seemed so drawn out. 7.5/10

Also recently watched Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I loved this film a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. I can't seem to fault it in any way. The one thing that stuck out, making it different from any other film I've seen was the way it was filmed like a Street Fighter/Mario Bros esque video game and done well too. 10/10

jayveeee: Cripes! At $15 per movie download would you want to do it much. The movie isn't even that good - if only the tiger ate him and the movie finished an hour earlier. It's a good movie for cinema snoozers - you can take naps without missing anything.

Spend 3 hours watching this instead - its free, and a better use of your time!

iTunes charges $15 for a movie? wat? I can get them cheaper on Blu-ray from JB Hi-Fi most of the time.

Agree with the review although I feel a bit more generous with the rating - maybe another whole point for not being one of those self-important humourless borefest movies bashing us over the head with a meaning of life message which I couldn't care less about. I just like to be entertained.

Yes, the pillowcase scene is absolutely hilarious. lol

I agree the pillowcase scene was hilarious and I'm glad they left it in even though it added to the length and was more or less completely redundant to the story. I reckon if any other director had made DU I would have probably given it a better score. I expect a lot out of Tarantino as I give Pulp Fiction a solid 11/10 (I feel every movie buff can give one single film a score of 11/10) and hence compare everything he does to this.

Just watched Tim Burton's Frankenweenie.

I was sceptical as to how he was going to adapt his short film into a full feature film but was pleasantly surprised.

Not suitable for young kids though.

Having read the book 3-4 years ago, I was largely skeptical. I have got to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

While a little long winded at time, I still got the full body tingles several times throughout.

IMHO, 10/10.

I tried to watch Cloud Atlas but failed. Nothing about it appealed to me at any time that my eyes were still open and that was most of the problem - when you take a snooze from something that is quite tiresome to concentrate on, you wake up to a scene (or universe) which is barely related to the one you fell asleep in.

Verdict: A great watch if you suffer from insomnia. lol

To each their own I guess haha. Like I said, I've read (and thoroughly enjoyed) the book, so I am a little biased on the fan-boy side. I was stoked on the way they captured what I imagined it looked like, and that they didn't skimp on important details like so many other books translated to movies.
