Not that I've seen. It's usually in US.

Since when? It might depend on the type of shoe? I guess it's possible that standards have changed since I started wearing shoes.

Edit: A quick google seems to confirm that UK is still the NZ standard for Men's shoes... (admittedly a lot of shoes have multiple sizes listed)

Everything I look at has had it in US on the shoe, and the others if there are smaller. Boxes and tags have the US size and in places like the warehouse if its done by UK size they actually say that on the hanger so you know that its about a size and a half out from what you want.

Only thing I know of that is commonly sold in UK sizing is doc's and the clones of them because they're from England. Chucks, Nikes, cheap things from the warehouse - all US sizes (at least for mens shoes) - its just kmart that use UK and dont put any warning on it.

With the caveat that the Warehouse sometimes sells in Chinese sizes as well which are several sizes smaller than what they claim, see my earlier comment about this. For example I'd got some replacement footwear mail-order during the lockdown which was about two sizes smaller than it should have been, when I went in to exchange it I was wearing the older size X footwear and put the new supposedly-size-X footwear next to it to illustrate the problem, it was about two sizes smaller. I swapped it for size X+2 and got something the same size as the older size X's I was wearing. And that's not a one-off mistake in a single batch, three different sets of footwear from two difference Warehouse stores spread over a period of about a year.

That's handy, NZ Herald web developers decided they don't want my my iOS password manager to work properly on their website.

And , why is the apple tv TVNZ app soooo bad!  You choose to watch a program from the start, if it is still live then seeking is disabled.

So, to watch it from the start, you have to watch 'live', then seek back to the start. Noticed some very very odd things in the tvnz app. Time information is also screwy.

One thing that annoys me is that I want to buy something from an online retailer. But they have just sent me an email promoting a similar product. I don't want them to think that the annoying email worked so I ended up buying somewhere else.

PBTech -- Click & Collect is only available the next day.

Also artificial stupidity in AliExpress purchasing... "You just bought and paid for xxx... we think you might also want to buy the exact same product from one of 5 other retailers, or perhaps one (or more?) of half a dozen very similar products".

Amazon (used to?) do the same. "Since you just bought [Movie] on Blu-ray, perhaps you'll like [Same Movie] on DVD", presumably because it's the same genre and has the same actors, etc.

Eighteen months ago I installed a software update and it introduced a bug. I reported it to the developer, they fixed it and released an update. But apparently they never put a test case around it because today they released a new update and it's brought the exact same bug back again.

[Edited to actually make sense...]

They have an intersting definition of next day as well. I ordered on saturday evening, it said collect tomorrow but they really meant monday when I finally got the SMS for pickup.

It's annoying that I am struggling to get used to the new normal of not having 10+ video calls a day that see me working up to 14 hours straight.

My new boss assures me that this feeling will pass.

Consolidated shipping where the last update is "Add to consolidated shipment" in Burkina Faso after which it disappears off any kind of tracking system until long after your refund/dispute period has elapsed.

Taking my Coffee Machine that's barely 6 months old back to Harvey Norma as the pressure has gone from the steam wand. Still some steam...just no pressure.

Got a text while I was there, confirming the job # and date etc.

2 weeks later, I get a message on my v/mail: Your machine has just been received by the repair agent.

I was mildly annoyed that it took 2 weeks to deliver it, but I waited another week before calling for an update. "It's with the repair agent" I am told, quite rudely. "It's an average wait of 10 days for them to look at it."

I understand there's a lot of delays on things, but this is taking the p!$$. 3 weeks and THEN 10 days!? Unacceptable.

I'll be voicing my displeasure when and if I receive my working machine back.

That's actually pretty poor service from Harvey Norman, particularly given the prices they charge. Compare that to somewhere like Bunnings or Mitre 10, typically an on-the-spot swap for a replacement and they sort out the issue themselves.

I've pushed "not interested" on about 30 Elden Ring videos on YouTube and it's still giving me Elden Ring videos. I don't want any spoilers while I'm still playing it!

Is that a "just at the present time" thing? I've certainly had same-day click and collect service in the past - in fact in under an hour on one occasion. Have to admit I haven't used it for a while though.
