Those Visa spam calls , they are relentless . I have blocked 4 of the numbers and they still keep coming and i dont even have a Visa.

I have had to set up my phone to only accept calls from known contacts, as nuisance calls have started to get completely out of hand. I used to just reject calls from overseas numbers, but now the scammers seem to be spoofing domestic numbers.

"The Visa" or just "Visa"? There appears to be two competing parties after your data...

Geektastic: Power cuts. Again.

Third time in less than 24 hours, now out until 1545. 🤬🤬🤬

We're having a decent dose of them ourselves on the other side of the valley to you.

Initially I was going make some remark about "third world electricity", however the "Jonda" (Pakistani made Honda knock-off) generators I saw in Afghanistan were infinitely more reliable than PowerCo has ever been.

Any call from a number I do not recognise goes straight to VM. If it is useful I will call back!

I dont have voicemail. If its important they can send a text with what its about because I don't let people interrupt me for no good reason.

People still leave messages. Easier to reject to a busy tone except elders without phone etiquette will call straight back despite being nothing urgent. Saying things like its not worth sending a text like that is my problem they're lazy.

My voicemail greeting states "please email me if you have my address, otherwise leave a voice message here". That way people know I prefer an email over a voicemail, but if they really have to then they can still leave me a message without me putting my email address on my voicemail greeting which would expose it to nuisance callers.

Now some Ottoman citizen in the wider neighbourhood thinks that his full-on bazaar music of belly-dancing provenance would be a delight for all ears. I would have no small desire to counter with Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries or Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with cannon thunder - but then I would be no better than him. ;-)

Forget that. Go straight to Motörhead.

I think either will be a good choice. Just make sure you have speakers up for the task. If you're going to do it, do it properly

We have neighbours from the sub continent who have a car alarm that regularly goes off in the middle of the night. I forsee an early morning lawn mowing event. My other evil option is to throw some ice cubes onto their roof. The evidence quickly disappears. 😇

What does their ethnic origin have to do with their car alarm?

That's just being a PITA and probably won't get the alarm stopped. What you need to do is do what a friend of mine did many years ago with a neighbour who would mow his lawn at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning: Record the noise, wait until half an hour after the lights at the neighbours have gone out in the evening, then play their car alarm back at them. Repeat every night until they get the alarm fixed.

But then his lawn would die.
