I felt similar after half of e1. The later twists and turns got me to the end of e1. After e3-e4 I'm giving it a solid 6.5/10. I have a feeling I might watch again taking it to a 7/10. As a semi-binge it's working well for me. I'd put this easily equal to Firefly although Firefly was not sci-fi/horror and this definitely is - including the classic horror 'look behind you! look behind you!' moments.

Perhaps I'll give it another go then :) But honestly even though Firefly took a couple of episodes to "find its feet" there was always a spark, something to like... I just couldn't find anything (like at all) to like in what I watched of this.

"The boys" on amazon is excellent. Totally bingeable! Beware ...extreme violence and nudity. Loving how 'supermans' laser eyes slices people to shreds. There will be a season 2, but hopefully they don't drag it out too long though... many great shows jump the shark when creative gets stretched.

it has Eric Kripke running it and he Created Supernatural and he planned it out for only 5 seasons and left it after 5 seasons and if you have ever watched Supernatural the first 5 seasons were the best.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I watched episode 1 of another life last night. Thought it was a bit meh. I'll try a couple more episodes but won't hold my breath based on the comments here. Ended up watching it as I'd started watching Ghost In The Shell (elsewhere) and that was super meh so I didn't bother to finish watching it.

Finished The Boys last night, and it's certainly set up for a second season so good to know that's on the way.

Yep, it's gory as anything, but the sex and nudity is pretty minimal and very tame - even with the episodes with those specific warnings I was struggling to see how it deserved them.

Interestingly, Karl Urban's accent became far more consistent as the show went on - seemed to settle much more into being British, rather than the NZ/SA/UK variability that plagued the first few episodes. Good to see two Kiwi actors face-to-face in a show-down in the last episode.

Am enjoying Blowing It (the glass-blowing competition on Netflix), but I feel it's been edited too much to bring it down to a commercial half hour. Far more 'learning' goes on for the viewer in such shows as The Great British Bake Off or The Great British Pottery Throw-Down, in particular where you see experts demonstrating in detail how stuff is done. In this series time is so scant we don't even get to properly see all the finished works let alone the production process.

The brilliant Indian Hindi TV series "Sacred Games" is back on Netflix with Season 2 on the 15 August.

If you have not watched Season 1 do so - this is a great cop show drama. Yes it is dubbed into English but it is not noticeable. It is just fabulous all round, dark & gritty drama 8/10.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Its based on the books by Robert G Barrett that came out in the late 80's early 90's.

Sort of like an Aussie 80's version of Barry Crump.

I admit I watched "Invader Zim" and "Rocko's Modern Life" as a child, so I'm obviously the target Netflix audience.

For those too young to have seen it, both always had an outsider's appeal, often with commentaries on corporation, mind-numbing jobs or public education rote / cookie cutter learning.

Didn't go any further with Dark, but have started on Stranger Things 3 - up to episode 4. I also noticed a few days back that season 6 of The 100 has dropped so I've managed to get a few episodes of that under my belt as well. Enjoying both.

Wayward Pines Season 1 and 2 6/10

Fairly run of the mill sci fi series with one or two interesting twists. Too many holes in the plot though like humans evolving into pseudo wild animals in only 2000 years.

Wu Assassins (Netflix). A bit of fantasy, martial arts, SFO Chinatown, all together. Interesting story, a bit weak, but ok to watch on the bus to/from work. 6.5/10

Agree, though more inclined to give it 5.5/10. Watched 3 episodes. Acting did improved. Had promise, then became too predictable and martial arttie for me.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

"Wild, Wild Country" (Netflix). Documentary series about an Indian cult's move to Oregon in 1984. Illuminating regarding the bare-faced lying and fraud and greed and power-hunger involved, and the unquestioning credulity of some of the participants. Actually, it's hard to decide which people fit into which category. Also interesting was the xenophobia of some of the Oregonians, and their unlimited determination to evict the cult. And the legal twists and turns of both sides.

Reminded me of another doco about a neo-Nazi group's attempt to take over Leith, another small town in South Dakota.
