And the state of the road - Especially near Dome Valley. IT'S OUR MAIN HIGHWAY!!!

Honestly - it's embarrassing.

It may be your main highway, but for most of us it's a backwater.

I was thinking more the fact that it's SH1 - not so much the location.

And when Auckland disappears enmasse to the winterless north, it's a lot of the country that is trying to use that godawful road.

Its not really worth spending a lot on it when its just a holiday road for people. Once people live in the whops and commute on it in mass then perhaps upgrade it. Till then its fine as a goat track.

It was how a lot of our oil got from the refinery to the rest of the North Island, until recently - hence the calls from Winston Peters to have the train system upgraded in the area, so they could take it all off that road.

It's still our main highway, whether it's used predominantly for commuting or for leisure travel.

Here is one that happens too often.

People call up to order something, and you ask them for the product code and they go "oooh, I knew you would ask that" and they DONT HAVE THE CODE despite "knowing" that they would be asked. ARGH!!!!

I rang a power company once. She asked "do you have a power bill handy?". I asked "do you want my ICP number?" and she sounded shocked that I was actually volunteering this critical information.

They're cancelling quite few too.  Meanwhile SoundsAir is chugging along usually on time. Often early.  Quick disembark.  I've been on a SoundsAir flights that landed after the AirNZ flight on the same route, but we were in the terminal earlier.  Happens quite often.

I'm not going to name it due to spoiler risk, but ... I just watched a 4 part mini series, in which the plot was headed toward one of two possible outcomes.  TBH it was a bit tedious a time but I got invested in the character and story.  At the end both outcomes were depicted, and the credits rolled.  Very annoying.

But at least my cat might finally go on a diet :) - and of course the nutritional value  of the Whiskas might be higher than Chef?  Or tastier?
