PB Tech who wont let me change my Email unless i make a new account, very annoying.

Trying to do it online, or you contacted them?

I had an odd situation a while back where I had updated my delivery address, but whenever I ordered anything, the old one kept popping up with no sign of the updated one. Phoned them and they sorted it from their end. Worth a try for your situation - if you haven't already.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

A couple of years ago someone shared a response they'd had from YouTube support. They'd made a suggestion that YouTube not have ads on first aid/medical videos; having had to wait through an ad when trying to stop someone from choking. YouTube's response? "If you subscribe to YouTube Premium then there won't be any ads". It beggared belief.

Probably have that as a key in some database somewhere because of a long ago bad decision that is not worth fixing because it happens so seldom that people change their email address.

Receiving a letter from Wellington Council which served absolutely, positively no purpose.

All it said was that my rates 'might' go up.

There are three options with rates: they go up, they stay the same or they go down.

I really do not need WDC to waste money on paper, envelopes and staff time sending me a letter to tell me what 'might' happen. That kind of idiocy is why my rates are so ridiculously high already!

I was very cynical when the BOP regional council announced that it would start collecting its own rates instead of having the district councils do it. "I bet WDC (the local council) will increase rates to fill the gap". People said I was being stupid and that they'd never get away with that. Yesterday I got the rates bill from WDC and guess what? The rates have increased to fill the gap!

Meanwhile BOPRC itself announced a 5.something% rates increase which ended up being 10.1%...

Free flooding signs then? Surely at some point you can report them for dumping to the same council that will then come out to look at it?

Just got my first ever spam email written in Maori. My Te Reo is not particularly good so put it through Google Translate. The usual grammar issues that you see in English only spam are still there, which probably means they just put their English bad grammar version through Google Translate in the first place!
