Netflix has announced a new animated series: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance - Coming Friday, 30 August

This is based on the 1982 The Dark Crystal movie by Frank Oz and Jim Henson of Sesame Street fame.

I'll let this YouTube clip explain it.

Correct but now we have a release date and a Netflix YouTube commentary trailer.

Jett  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8594276/

Thoroughly enjoyed, very Tarantino'ish in his early days.

Also enjoyed Jett a lot.

Whilst most wouldn't admit this in their darkest moment, I thought for nostlalgia's sake I'd check out BH 90210 2019 Reboot. I am actually not hating it! I am not sure it has longevity for me, but it's certainly not the worst thing I've watched this year.

I haven't watched it yet, but I found this review

Stream It or Skip It: ‘Better Than Us’ on Netflix, a Russian Family Drama with Sex Bots
By Brett White

Netflix’s newest sci-fi stream is Better Than Us, a Russian series set in the near future where robots have been integrated into our day to day lives. It’s cool, though, because they’ve been programmed to follow the First Law, which says they can’t just outright murder all the humans. But what happens when one robot skips that bit of code

Guilty pleasure - "Hyperdrive"

Emphasizes driving finesse over raw power, so Lamborghinis and American muscle cars at a disadvantage.

I found myself booing one of the contestants, a drag racer named Mike Martin: "second place is first loser"

"GLOW" reated 94% on Rotten Tomatoes

In 1980s LA, a crew of misfits reinvent themselves as the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. A comedy by the team behind "Orange Is the New Black."

Pennyworth based on the early days of Batman's butler.  Has nothing to do with Batman and is really quite good.

4 episodes in and quite hooked.

i know nothing about the DC world but i loved the show, great production values and i love how each episode is named after a 60's icon. the only thing wrong with it is it's a weekly episode show. i think it is the best new show i have seen this year.

Off subject, I guess everyone's heard about Spiderman.

Spider-Man Fans Shower Tom Holland With Support After Disney/Sony Split

by Sam Plank

Just when you thought the world couldn’t love Tom Holland any more, the Spider-Man actor would like you to hold his beer. Yes, he’s old enough to drink. It’s not his charm or sense of humor that’s winning us over this time, though, as his fans are doing the wooing for him.

Droves of the actor’s fans have been showing their support for Tom after Sony and Disney’s very public disagreement. Yes, it’s hard to believe, but Spider-Man is no longer part of the MCU after the two studios couldn’t reach an agreement on how greedy each should be. Of course, those who love seeing Peter Parker team up with the Avengers, which should be everyone, can still hold out hope that a deal may be reached, but for now, the Spider-verse and Marvel’s cinematic universe are no longer the same.

Just finished Season 1 of The Boys on Prime Video. 4 out of 5 for me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06rueu_fh30

A pretty cool take on commercialization of superheros. A bit dark and is building up to season 2 nicely.

Enjoyed Karl Urban as Billy Butcher although his English accent drifts from time to time.

1/2 an episode isn’t enough of a gauge. I’m 3 episodes in an it’s absolutely wonderful. Your loss.
